Flex Queue Placements

I am Diamond 5 with a standard low diamond mmr, I played my 10 placement games of the 5v5 Flex Queue, went 4-6, got in Silver 5. My friend is Diamond 5 with a standard low diamond mmr, he played his 10 placement games of 5v5 Flex Queue, went 6-4, got in Platinum 5.

Based on stats each game, I did better than him every game, yet those 2 more wins placed him 10 division above me? 10?

Also, anyone else experiencing dumb matchmaking in this queue? Don't get me wrong, I love playing this Flex Queue, Normal draft with rankings. From around 15 games played, 95% of them were so stupid like 5 plat/dia vs 5 gold/silver, something like that. How does the placement system work, anyone care to explain?

Thank you =)

I'm in the process of testing the new placements on various accounts at the moment. Only 2 have been done so far and a d3 account that went 9-1 placed plat 1, which is pretty normal.-silver 4 account went 4-6 and placed bronze 5, again pretty standard if a tad low. So the ultimate function of the reset doesn't appear to have changed much even if it's tuned a bit lower than usual.

The strange thing in the 25 or so games I've tested so far (I've got another 35 to play for testing purpose) was the matchmaking part of the equation which I can't account for or make sense of. Diamond 3 account starts doing placements and the collective mmr of each team decreased each game instead of increasing? That was rather odd, win first game, it's 100% diamond players. Second game is too. Third game is one diamond apiece for each team and 8 plats? After winning the first two? Huh? Weird. And every game there after the collective team mmrs dropped each match until the last one features a gold player. Really strange stuff there that I can't explain yet. Need more data.

I'm also Diamond 5 with around that MMR. I went 6-4 in my placements due to leavers and other random trolls. I ended up getting placed in Silver 4. While I know I played rather bad in some games, I don't think I should've got placed in silver at all. What is this system?

Same here. I am Plat 5 with around Plat 3 MM. Went 6-4 in my placements. Won my first 5 games playing against mid diamond to high plats. I lost 1 game and matchmaking dropped me to around silver-gold elo filled with trolls and ragers. Lost the next 4 then won my last game. Some games I didn't do fairly well but i got placed in Bronze 2. I honestly think something is wrong with the system.

Same thing with me... I was silver 5 last season with mmr of silver 3. Won 4 lost 6 carried most of the games I won, placed in bronze 5. WTF?

i've been diamond for the last 2 seasons, and it placed me in bronze 1. how does the mmr mess up that badly.

Yeah i actually got 10 0 placements and got placed silver 1 for some reason, there were some diamonds in those games but mostly gold bronze, and the bronzes kept coming the more i won.. I have no clue why in the world it placed me so low, and im plat v with plat 3 mmr solo/duo

I think most of you get it wrong. FlexQ has nothing to do with SoloQ/DuoQ. Each has is own Division and MMR. So it doesn't matter if you are a high tier in SoloQ/DuoQ. It's a complete new Queue where you can be placed in anything from Bronze to low Gold. It's like you would play your first ranked placements ever in this Queue.
