Giving up in ranked

So I never really understood why people play ranked and then start getting really tilted and start giving up because they wanna win but cant, but literally by giving up you yourself stop the game from being won.

Like I don't wanna be a dick-head but man if you just going to give up 10 mins in because you went 0-2 in lane, I don't think you have to right mentality to be playing ranked and should try to change it before you end up wasting other people time and effort for trying to win and climb.
