The feeling when you are usually the one who rants, but...
Okay, I am ranting about Riot's (un)proffesionality, hidden intentions, greedyness (y or i? I'll never know) and not enough transparency everytime I can so much, that it is nearly annoying to me, too. And yet I look at those "I wanna me some URF today!" posts and disagree. Same when people ranted about Harrowing no longer being bound to Halloween.
As for URF: I am bronziessimo, so of course I love some manaless brainless Veigar spamming and love the mode. I am quite disappointed not to have it. BUT:
What would you like more? Circa 2 weeks of URF once a year or potentially at least 4 (up to 7, since Rioters said they might extend it If successful) days twice up to trice (and If lords of mathematical division would be generous enough, even quadrice) a year? Together with many other modes like One for All, Ascension, Hexakill?
I understand occasional players might prefer those two weeks they stop by on, but I believe for sake of guessed majority (hail them manual statistics), several days of fun every week, changing, including URF would be much better. Not to mentoin THIS EXACT THING HAS BEEN REQUESTED BY PLAYERS THEIRSELVES. 'TIS BEEN PLAYERS WHO STRESSED THE LOGIC, THAT IF RIOT WANTS TO KEEP MODES FRESH AND TEMPORARY WHILE ALSO MAKE THEM MORE FREQUENT, THEY COULD SIMPLY MAKE SOME ROTATIONS.
This phenomenon has occured several times already. Minority, that "Riot doesn't listen to" (my rant, too, I admit it, guilty, runic prison on me) requested something, it got implemented and people ranted. Master Yi ultquick dance was requested by players. Riot did it. People ranted that's not exactly what really balances him (part of that were jokes to note). People wanted Riot to replace some of old splash art with the Chinese one. Riot did it. People started massive shitwaterfall of size that would require Waterfal badge to be obtained by those who cross it. Now, I ranted mostly about the Fiora (it got reverted BTW, our prayers were listened to, gotham is real, gotham confirmed) and I understand that some of those "better" splashes were ridiculous. I won't ignore there were useful topics in meaning like "Please, could we vote about it?", "I don't mean to be rude, but this one is really step back". But there were also topics like "Oh, why we even doin' this? It ugly", "Riot go eat out of date pizza, I hate the changes". It isn't really motivating Riot to "care about minority". And I say it as proud Riothater (or as we Europeans say, Riotophobic, coz it's cool to create new "phobia" terms when you don't understand what that is).
TL;DR (TransLiteral DeRivation): I laughed at the Draven post for 10 seconds, I am not really nuts from Draven day (since most of the "event" is RP attracting anyway), I'd prefer URF, BUT really... URF will be back. Several times a year. Unless Riot fncks it up as they know to. If they will, rant then and you'll be on point.
As for Harrowing: Yes, new Halloween Event sucks, but point is it will be now destination event like Ascension and Butcher's Bridge and HA introduction rather than time event. That's why those rants back then were not mostly on point.
PS: I realise me as ranter who disagrees with current rant might actually attract double as much downvotes as usually, but damn that I'm posting this anyway. In better case it won't be even noticed ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) .
