Diamond 1 Shenanigans

I do not believe that spending an hour+ playing 2-3 games to lose all the lp gained in a 20 minute surrender is fun. Riot can make lp gains/mmr or whatever the way they want, but this is just disgusting. You might say "ya gotta prove yourself kiddie" - and I totally agree. Personally, I hate the thought of some lucky gold-last-season kid riding a luck streak up to Masters cuz D1 clamping is gone - kind of makes it a joke now. But, personal performance and consistency is what LP gains should be based off of. If you're just locking in Janna/Morgana (during their respective hype periods) and winning with minimal effort, reduce that lp gain to shit. Let's be real here, most D1's get there because they're even a little decent at the game. What this means is if you end up losing your lane and feeding, theres no coming back from it simply because the enemy laner knows how to capitalize hard on the lead. Therefore, 1 rotten player can bury 2 of my games of shitty shitty +13 and +17 with a -31 (net loss of 1 lp, not even gain).

tl;dr i wasted 2 hrs so im mad + Riot pls make a based lp gain algorithm so i can get challenger and proceed to win life ty ty nerf janna and morgana

Oh well, as long as you recognize you're mad that's good. The real problem is the current system. They never really removed the old system, so it causes problems for people who are in a tier their mmr says you "don't" belong to. I feel they should probably just go with one system, by just using LP's or MMR. The duel system seems to just cause grief for a lot of people. The only reason I used to like LP's was because there was a buffer system before that could help people who go on a loss streak from plummeting to oblivion (like someone at 2k elo dropping to 1.4k-1.6k because of trolls) but they've removed that I believe, so I don't think there's much difference anymore except for the fact you KNOW what tier you're in instead of having to the # equivalent.
