Riot, Please Stop (Completely) Balancing Your Games For Esports/Streaming

I'd wager most everyone would agree that high damage situations, wombo combos, etc. are generally much more exciting to watch than slower, more technical fights. Premise established: It makes for better spectating. That said, I think many would agree this meta has shifted too far in that direction. There hardly seems to be any more room for nuance: the obvious snowball factor, fewer tower sieges than before, limited opportunities for retreat or fights with engaging chases or back-and-forth, conservative play is punished with excessively easy tower-dives, etc.

The above factors make it seem like you're leaving out the players in your balance considerations. We're not all disposable little zerglings in Starcraft- most players enjoy having a little agency in the game that as of now has been taken over by a horde of burst champions (ADCs, Assassins, Mages, it doesn't matter). I don't want to diminish the skill level it takes to play champions like Shaco, Kai'Sa, Master Yi, Swain, etc. but it feels like you're completely kowtowing to the Twitch/YouTube streamer's flashy/sensational "CHECK OUT THIS MASSIVE CRIT" videos or LCS replays, etc. I've played your game since 2010 and this is the first time I can truly say it feels completely mismanaged, like you've thrown balance to the wind in order to placate only viewers and the portion of your playerbase who enjoys damage at the cost of everything else. I understand there has to be a certain level of this due to financial considerations, but I truly hope you take the opportunity at midseason to re-examine health/armor/resist levels in relation to where damage is right now.
