League of legends servers and ping
I began playing league when a freind introduced me to it somewhere around the srart of season 4, at that time I didn't know what the 4 bar on the top right was, I would learn it to be "ping". I remember my ping was constant 69 and the worst it ever got to was like 72 unless everyone dc'd, yes I remember a few games in season 4 when everyone would dc at the same time. None of that matters now cause it hasn't happened since season 4, uhhhhh maybe like a year later probably early season 5 but close to mid I remember hopping back to league after some weeks off from it because of work and I noticed that when I got into the champion loading screen my ping was a 45 instead of the usual 69, at the time I thought centurylink was boosting my service or something, it wasn't that much of a difference but yes I could definitly feel a quicker response. Some time later maybe a month i read about league servers moving to Chicago and I didnt know what for cause I didnt know what it was supposed to mean for the game. The move happened and my ping jumped to 82 but it wouldnt be as constant aa like 69-72 my ping would range from 82-91 on average, coming off of 45 ping I felt the difference indeed but 82 ping isn't really the worst when you get used to it. Well all I wonder is why did this happen? I started league at 69 ping and it was great but there would be games where everyone would dc on very rare occasions. Pretty sure the servers moved to the west or something and that would explain my ping decrease I thought it was aight but didn't really care. Then the ping moving to Chicago the east side the east coast, its been over a year now since the move to Chicago and the server stayed in the west for like what? a month? Maybe more? I guess all im trying to ask is why cant the league server move to where it was at season 4? As far as I know most people had about the same ping. I would ask if the servers would switch from east to west but clearly riot has no intention and plans to keep it in the east.
