I haven't played Nid recently because of Evelynn, but here's what I noted:
- You train your reaction while playing Nidalee. As you clear camp, try your best to shorten the time by working on the combo faster.
- You train your ability to skillshot and when to use/not to use it. As you get more experienced with her, you will notice that you will not be lounging spears left and right, hoping to land one. You will start utilize different positions, flanking, outside-of-vision position and you will be more aware increasing of whether you're spotted or not.
- You have more damage than you think. Never underestimate Nidalee's damage as she has one of the highest damage output in early/mid game for a jungler. Granted her maximized damage depends on hunted targets and how long you can keep them being hunted, but her autos + E is also a good follow-up to wait for cooldowns to refresh.
- You are squishier than you think. If you are used to the other junglers, then Nidalee squishiness may surprise you if you're not being careful. It takes practice but know your damage output and know if you can go in for kills or with follow-ups only. In teamfight, going in with Nidalee without summoners spells and/or hourglass is a no-no. Even when you're ahead, it's never good to front line as Nidalee.
- Utilize your red buffs when ganking. You don't have to gamble on landing a spear from the bush or behind a wall in order to gank. When you have your red-buff, or blue smite, walk up and land some autos to slow them down, poke them lower, and position yourself so that landing a spear is a successful hit. Of course, remember the points I mentioned above: you have a lot of damage but you are very squishy. Know your damage output and who the champion you're ganking for is to decide if it's a good idea to follow up.
- Late game Nidalee is mostly a poke/heal support with considerable amount of damage. If you get to late game with Nidalee (which you really shouldn't, you want to end it best at mid-game), know that you are no longer a real threat. Even without MR, the chance of you jumping on a squishy and take them down is minimal, so best if you stay back and poke. You still have very good damage, can still take people down, but this is where you put the team on top of yourself. Peel for ADC and don't let yourself caught because you wanted to throw some spears.
That's all. I'm sure there are far more Nidalee experts that can give you much greater insights, but I think Nidalee is a high risk high reward champion and is extremely fun. Jungler is not really my role, but when I have to Nidalee was always my pick (now it's her and Evelynn). Have fun!
