Urgot? Oldest... kit... ever?

Is he even relevant? He was hard to play after the nerf bats went Sic Semper Tyranis on him in 2012... I can count the number of times That I have seen him played on one hand since then. (3 years ago) So I dusted him off. Looking back on the game I just played the answer is no. His Q's Range is just too short and doesn't do enough damage. So it's no good for an alpha or poke. His W costs insane amounts of mana for such a long cd, and is burnt down too quick to be really useful for an escape, considering his complete lack of mobility (Think Blitz & Sion) His E really should either pool or have a longer tick time and again costs way too much mana. His Ults Range and Immobility make him useless unless it's point blank and then... whats the point of the movement? In short, He's slow, fat, old, sounds like he throwing up in a toilet bowl costs way too much mana with way too long a cd. Sort of like Ozzy Osbourne. But Hey, Ozzy has charm.

urgot is a champ with a lot of cool concepts that work horribly together.

imagine his QE on a champion dedicated to poking, or imagine his ult on a good initiator,

absolutely godlike, horrible when combined.

+1 for last line. Rest of post has been known by most people for forever, riot's going to fix it soon(tm)

If we un-nerfed him I am pretty sure he would go back to being playable. All you had to do was Ult-W or W-Ult to either intiate or escape. He was also insanely tanky if built right. He was a little more In your face back then, not so much AH MY FACE!

Here is a very cool story of me playing Urgot, so gather around, sit tight and listen.

I tried him in custom to simulate jungle clear time once (was planning to use him as a jungler), I was actually surprised that he didn't actually die in his first clear, albeit nearly kicked the bucket, still "he could make it" I thought to myself.

Experiment 2, I tried him in an intermediate game which went sorta decent at first, you expect lanes not needing much help in bots anyways so I wasn't too worried. I could go to top lane (where there was 1v2) and kill both of them with minimal help from the laner. I was like "SWEET I am DEFINITELY going to try him in normal next!! WOOOO PRAISE THE LORD I CONQUERED".

Then I hit lvl 6, yes holy shiet lvl 6. I immediately went to a lane to show off the very reason I tried him in jungle, then oh err umm.... I. Couldn't. Change. Places. With. You. Wtf?

Then the next sensible thing I did was immediately opening up LoLwiki and I read this:

Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser RANGE: 550 / 700 / 850

Ohh..... For comparison, it's as big as Vayne's AA range eww. Yer I know it scales, but honesty who can possibly play him to lvl 18 without having the same number of deaths as your level?

y u du dis rito WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I'm scared about what Riot are going to do to him...

I'd be happy with him just getting a new ult with a Passive that has a cool interaction with another part of his kit. I'd say his shield needs to scale off a more abundant stat on Urgot because AP certainly isn't doing the trick right now.

He has some potential, but mobility is a real issue as is mana costs.

He's got a really weird kit, like h should be 3 champions at once.

He also happens to be either crazy OP or utter trash with no inbetween.

Right now he's trash.

Urgot was a reasonably good niche pick last season, usually in the top lane. He certainly wasn't the strongest champ in the game, but he made a decent lane bully and could absolutely dominate some top lane match-ups. In my experience, his primary limitation was always his early game mana problems. Last season, building a Tear gave him enough mana regeneration to be fairly useful, but the regen nerfs have made his early game much weaker. It's quite difficult to bully most champions now, since you only get off one or two combos before going oom for the next five minutes. Still, if you can survive the early game without your team feeding too hard, he can be quite a force late game.

I wasnt there for Urgot's glory days but maybe we can bring that back, revert whatever nerfs happened to him never know what impact that may have today

I am going to say some truth that not many will believe

Urgot is actually a really strong top lane champion at the moment

Why?

1 - His kit is actually stupidly strong early game, and everyone agrees on this 2 - He is probably one of the tankiest champions at the moment with his ultimate providing one of the LARGEST defensive buffs in the game and his passive reducing damage even further (which also reduces the damage allies take) 3 - He is basically guaranteed to put the enemy mage or adc where they do NOT want to be

So really, stop thinking he is an ADC or something, and just see him for the glorious tank that he is
