Morde is not a burst mage!

I'm more than a little bit sick of not only people spewing bile and anger over champs they consider "OP", but also people who think that they know how characters work without playing them for a long time. I may not have played morde as long as some players, but I think two or so year of maining him gives me some authority on the subject. I've gone pretty much the full extent of my league career without anything resembling significant changes to Mordekaiser's kit or my playstyle, others however... With the recent removal of DFG, people (myself included) found quite a few champs and builds rendered obsolete by the lack of a damage boost (actually mostly veigar). What I didn't agree with though, was the public's thoughts on Mordekaiser. I didn't build DFG on morde, and for good reason: he has no burst beyond two skills, I don't count his Q because you have to get into melee range for it to work, so trying to use his E and ult to kill someone was not only risk and unreliable, it also made you a rather squishy target, which meant you would never use your ghost to do anything, because you died right after your combo like other burst casters. I instead built him more brusier-ish with these runes, masteries and items: runes:

  • magic pen red
  • health per level yellow
  • AP per level blues
  • and AP quints 9/21/0 masteries items item 3020 item 3152 or item 3146 item 3151 item 3116 item 3157 item 3001 This generally speaking has gotten me the most success against most match ups, and more specifically assassins; mostly because they often try and go mid to snowball and try to kill you, but if you max E first and W after (yes I meant W, Q is the worst spell contrary to popular belief) the enemy cannot kill you, ever, and if they try, they fall under your control and subsequently lose their tower to you. Even when you don't fight assassins, you still do pretty decently against anything that isn't a DoT mage or Zyra, as your E is so low cooldown and high damage that your enemy doesn't know how to get rid of you. Late game he isn't as good but he can still be useful due to the fact that he can steal any one member of their team (generally the ADC) and use them to blast the enemy to bits. So, with all that said, what do I think of the upcoming changes to morde? I'm cool with it. I really like the idea of splitting W to allow morde moth more damage potential and the ability to support those in need, additionally his ult got some really neat buffs to allow for more damage and bulk for you, while also giving your ghost more damage and usability, oh and his Q get more range, yay. So I'm not with the rest of the world on this one, I look forward to the changes coming in, and I expect everyone will call me OP because of them. :3

So before you call Riot a bunch of idiots and morons, why don't you hear from someone who has tried out their idea for his playstyle and has even tested it out.

I'm curious to see what the split Creeping Death means for his pushing power though. This might make him much more vulnerable to ganks and/or goonsquading. I have a special level of dislike for Morde, being that he's very hard to fight, and excels at poking people down, but I understand his weaknesses and strengths are very well defined.
