Beefy Azir split pusher or mid lane

so I have followed meta stuff for a long time but I tend to theory craft in my spare time and often I tend to do crazy builds before they become popular and get nerfed sadly. currently in my plat promos and people have been talking a lot about changes ect with azir. the mana was never a big deal since I could just buy 2 dorans and be fine in lane but with people talking up lethal tempo I have started to think about some interesting possibilities that I am currently testing out. a while back I had a problem with point and click assasins when I played azir and so I built him beefy with defencive tankish stats sacrificing attack speed and some situational items to stay alive. this was a long time ago but I kinda liked the beefy if you catch me somehow I'm still gonna eat your face feeling.

my thoughts are with lethal tempo on azir maybe you can skip a nashors rush even though it is not really needed anyway but turn azir into a major turret pusher.

here is the current plan, precision primary tree into resolve secondary though I have been playing around with this majorly. I took tp to lane to help with my weaker early game and rush a roa. after I get roa I am much harder to kill and have good poke with no problems in mana. lethal tempo will give me attack speed in fights and the roa lets me last longer. after which I am starting to use nashors again 2nd item for cdr and attack speed. after which I can build a pen item depending on teams or hp shred and situational items if I need it.

for runes I'm doing lethal tempo with triumpth because I am stacking hp with the build and that 12% in fights keeps me going plus I don't have mana issues. alacrity for some more attack speed pretty standard. and coup de grace or cut down based on teams though with my hp build I have thought about cut down since I will be standing much longer at low hp.

secondary I am doing resolve because I tested some early lane pressure stuff before and it was ok with lethal. and I tried pots but they didn't help all ins with good burst champs. bone armor and the regen were not noticeable later on.

so I decided on demolisher like azirs old w passive was like and overgrowth which I know no one really uses but here me out.

I had to play safer a little before first back but teleport lets me get a second mana pool. after roa I start stacking hp and can get more aggressive in lane. azir is really good at seiging his lane and thus I get lots of farm doing this and stacking hp. I get anywhere from 300-500 hp from this so far around 25 min which is pretty good considering they have also added hp values to mana items in the game with about 200-300. so not only is roa giving hp but Morello and liandries ect . rylias if you really want that.

point being that even without a finished roa I still got a proc of about 200-300 damage with demolisher and after that my hp kept rising with just the roa and my overgrowth I had 3kish hp and good mana and good damage / turret pressure. next turret I was getting anywhere from 25 to 50% of its hp with the demolisher proc. this makes me think with azir and tp plus lethal and his turret passive he can siege and split push, he has good escapes and scales well into late game kinda like a ranged jax. with his wave clear keeping his hp just skyrocketing I wouldn't be surprised if I made it long enough to build more ap/mana items or even just got more farm that I could hit 4k hp on him just with roa and if I built a situational defence item I don't think I would die anytime soon after my roa was bought. maybe postpone nashors if I need to for a situational defence.

any thoughts or comments to suggest to me is much appreciated as I am no genius but I do like to have unique and art filled playing experiences ;D

I've heard worse ideas!

Azir is a S-tier-level champion right now - Pobelter just basically won Game 2 of the LCS Spring Finals on a 4-man shuffle en route to a sweep, you should check it out. And a little tankiness can help you be close enough to really maximize your soldier strikes and/or push hard to survive ganks. His dash is an okay escape, but he's so squishy on his base stats. And mid gets ganked a lot lately - it's a very active jungler meta and junglers will gank a midlane just to cross map quadrants if they're good - and if you plan to try him top or splitpushing you def would need it too because long lanes have less turret coverage. He's a better mid than top generally because the "arena" in the corner that starts off top laning is much bigger than mid, and it's harder for him to cover opponents up there, but certainly for a techy strategy where you planned to try getting him fed on a splitpush it might work.

He strikes me as more of the semitank item builder - the items that provide AS or AP and tankiness as opposed to pure tank stuff, because he's never going to be that tanky and his best defense is still two sand soldiers taking off half your health in a few seconds. item 3027 certainly seems fine, item 3003 might also be great after it transforms for the shield while still providing a lot of damage. item 3116 used to be really good on him but some players seem to not like it since some recent nerfs. item 3091 could be techy when you need the MR and surprising with the extra damage it gives close-up, though this could be totally terrible, I've certainly never tried it.

I still think item 3115 is second build, and get item 3101 early if you don't plan on the whole thing because AS is just so crucial on him. You still have to be able to get those repeated sand soldier stabs to maximize damage.

But if you find otherwise, certainly do what works for you.
