Here's somethings that i noticed in G5 that i didn't notice in elos lower. Gold 5 really makes you ponder, how a lot of people made it into gold. It has been the only bracket I have noticed 75% of the games people are going for lvl 10-12 barons and consistently throwing lead advantages. There could be a stale mate in top lane for 20 minutes into the match and people are still only playing the bottom part of the map. people only play the bottom part of the map period. for some reason Baron > Farming > objective > abusing lead advantages. Everyone Thinks they are Faker or Bjergsen even if they are doing bad and are quick to be toxic on why they are doing bad. People are actually dong Qtiepie's Troll builds... stop rushing triforce on vayne you do not have challenger mechanics and do not Que up as three LCS players, playing against diamond and low mmr challengers. Im so tired of hearing Feels bad, or Feels bad man its almost as if people just type it into chat just to do it. Rather than it referencing something that legitimately is making someone feel bad. I have been in G5 for a few days and quickly began noticing if you get fed in top lane you better get a Qss in order to carry due to the fact you will be playing most of the time by yourself abusing your lead, and pressing objectives. My win rate with going renekton top has droped from 75% down to 60-62% as I could not get why I could not get the Aces needed to end games.

i'm pretty sure that's an elo a lot of people get boosted to just for rewards, if that helps. :o

How?

-getting carried by DQ -getting carried by the balance team's parade of horribles

I see what you're talking about all the time, and it's almost always from a champ that spent most of the season being totally broken (Lucian, Yasuo, Azir, Zed, Ekko, GP, etc.). In a few patches it'll be the same thing but with Jinx, Jhin, Zac, Twitch, Rumble, etc.

Getting to Gold is still an accomplishment. Last season I think roughly 25% of the player base on NA only made it to Gold V or higher. This season, at the moment on NA, 35% are in Gold or higher.

This spike appears rather recent though, since most of the season about 25-27% of the player base was in Gold V or higher most of the season. People are pushing to Gold for end of season rewards. The platinum numbers from what I recall appear to be about the same from the past two years.

The problem with Gold V at the moment is that A LOT of players get to Gold V and do not adjust their tactics to play in against other gold players. Basically, they got to the Elo through playing with friends, getting on a win streak, or through a slow grind of perseverance.

They may not have improved much and I think most players in Gold III and higher are significantly better than most Gold Vs.

They are practically "Silver players in transition". Gold IV is a noticeable improvement from Gold V I found. And when I was in Gold II and I a month ago I was playing against upper Gold and Low Plat players and they were much better than Gold IV players.

I think Gold V is pretty bad every season though. Most of player sit in Gold V after achieving it and never really improve as a player because they do not play much in the division. The worst players are the ones at Gold V 0LP. They fall into a separate category almost because when I play a normal game if I have a Gold V 0LP on my team I KNOW they are pretty much a silver caliber player and will make mistakes as such.

Last season I snuck into Gold V by going on a winning streak, but I was no means a gold player. I think I won, roughly, 17 of 19 games and shot from Silver II to Gold V. Lost a game or two and then stopped playing ranked. I didn't really improve much as a player until the end of preseason over my winter break when I had a lot of time to play.

So many Syndras on my team, each and everyone of them is an inept moron.

Then you get one on the enemy team and 1/2 of them are actually competent.

I'm Gold 5 myself and its incredibly frustrating, I even got demoted to silver 1 but manage to get back to gold. One of the things that tilts me the most is when the ADC or Supp say "I'm gonna play aggressive at X moment", because you know that means that they will over extend and get killed.
