How is my Champion Pool for Ranked Gameplay?

I was placed B5 last season, and ended up just quitting LoL outright for the rest of the season, but I've decided to return. I was just thinking about my main, which for the last 2 seasons has been Nasus, and I was just focusing on the one champion but it's come pretty clear to me that I don't like the simplicity of top, I don't understand how to tank properly besides being the first to engage, it seems even with the right builds i'm always much more squishy than another tank. I'm a pretty solid jungler though, and a really positive player so I like working with my lanes and helping people out. Also I'm pretty good at being a ninja, not so good at stealing/early aggression but everyone has to learn their roles. Are these champ picks fine or should I try others/less?

Essentially, my champion pool looks like this, all in order of how much I know about/play them. If I had to say one specific main champ, it's probably my main bear :3. Volibear is my safest pick, but, I can usually snowball harder with Nidalee, also Mid isn't even listed because I won't roll mid in ranked, ever. It's always the longest queue time, and I never queue for it. I queue for Jungle/Top usually. And almost always get Jungle.

Jungle: Nidalee, Volibear, Shaco. Top: Nasus, Volibear. ADC: Ashe Supp: Thresh, Volibear.

Tips/Help would be super appreciated, I've been closed to criticism in the past and I think that was why I landed BV in the first place.

Hi.First of all, i'm plat 3 right now but i've been playing league for aprox. 5 years. It's not a matter of picks essentially, it's about mechanics and learning how to read your opponent. Try playing graves/kha jungle with lethality, any adc but with lethality items. Easy to snowball, easy to win. Hope i helped you

I would want a 3rd top champ just because Volibear/Nasus share some tough match ups like Fiora Renekton Trundle Riven Quinn . So I would would a counter to those, maybe a ranged champ. that way if the enemy picks one of those before you pick you can go to your 3rd pick.

Well, for starters. You should be good on at least 3 champions per role (even mid) so in the very rare off-chance you get auto filled and they ban one of your 3 and pick another, you still have 1 left that you know how to play well enough to manage. You don't have to hard main them, but know them well enough to not just insta-feed and are able to farm well with them.

#ALSO, VOLIBEAR IS NOT A SUPPORT AND SHACO IS NOT A GREAT TOP

Recommendations would be: TOP: Darius Nasus Rumble Swain Volibear Shen Maokai Camille Jayce Illaoi Quinn Poppy Fiora JG: Graves Hecarim Elise Zac Khazix Rengar Shaco Nidalee Vi MID: Yasuo Zed Veigar Talon Viktor TwistedFate Syndra Ryze Katarina Jayce Kassadin Leblanc Cassiopeia Corki ADC: Ashe Jhin Jinx Varus Vayne MissFortune Draven SUP: Alistar Braum Brand Blitzcrank Annie Janna Karma Sona Soraka Thresh Zyra Zilean TahmKench Sion

A good champion to know in case you just never are sure what to play is Karthus. Play him mid/top/sup/jungle (maybe? It was a thing before) and for a good few ranks he wont give you much problems since dying is just part of his kit. But past silver 3+, unless you are good at him, you might want to start more meta picks.

Now you don't need to know all of these champions, they are just good options who usually are strong. Just pick 3 or 4 from all 5 roles (15-20 champions) which you can play to an acceptable level of competence.

nid and voli are bad in jungle right now

shaco is ok but to really win with him you have to snowball early cuz he has a bad issue of falling off pass 25mins

nasus is ok in the right team comp/match up

ashe is a safe pick at adc.. .even if behind you are useful with utility but rarely carries games with damage, try adding cait and mf/Lucian with lethality builds

thresh is always an ok support but highly mechanical to be really good with his kit, he scales better as games go. sadly a lot of mage supports just punish him hard. voli wouldn't be worth playing at support.

top laners Darius Maokai Poppy Swain Jayce jungle Amumu Graves Hecarim Khazix Shaco Vi

mid Ahri Annie Cassiopeia Leblanc Ryze Ziggs

adc Ashe Caitlyn Lucian MissFortune

supports Janna Leona Lulu Sona Soraka TahmKench Taric Nautilus
