Kassadin and Elise

Due to the recent increase in Elise players, and the balance issues in the game, I felt the need to make this thread. As some may remember, there was a patch in 2014 that targeted three aggro-junglers (Elise, Evelynn, and Lee Sin). It was definitely a needed nerf. But the way Riot went about it was extremely terrible, in the sense that Elise was never able to recover from this. Fast forward to patch 7.6, and she's stil lacking the strength to defend herself and support her teammates. Whereas Lee Sin and Evelynn were able to bounce back due to slight buffs, and etc. over time. There are many other champion as well who struggle in their own lanes such as Kassadin and Kindred. The decision to take away Kindred's heal, resulted in a very low sustain in the jungle, ultimately killing them. Kassadin is simply a very underpowered champion when compared to other mage and assasin midlaners. I understand that he's supposed to be a mid-late game champion, but if you can't even build up enough gold to buy items because your basic attack is begrudgingly as slow as molasses, and forces you into the AA range of the enemy laner, then you're never gonna reach late game. It would be nice to see Kassadin be able to have control over his lanesthesia, instead of being forced to simply farm under tower the entirety of the game.

This will probably get downvoted because older players have ptsd from old kassadin.

I agree that Kassadin would need maybe a slight nerf, but actualy i find Kass to be the fairest assassin of the lot. Unlike the rest of them, he has really low base damage, but very high AP scaling, which means that he HAS to work to get rolling, unlike most other assassins which have strong base damage and are mosrtly ''Press R to win'' champs. He does have a strong kit with the best mobility in the entire game, a poor early is somewhat the price to pay for it.

Okay, first of all, Elise is still good. Better than Eve, in fact. She's got somewhere around the 5th highest presence of any jungler in competitive. Second, I found the patch you're talking about, and all they did was slightly reduce her spider E range and her human E missile width. Did that really kill her that hard?

Third of all, it's really not that bad to have to farm under tower all game when your kit is explicitly designed for you to do so. Kassadin has extremely high base AD, and his W passive gives him even more damage, solely so he can lasthit under tower better, because neither of those things help his burst.

Honestly if Riot buffs kassadin they need to take away the buff to his ult dmg. Most people don't know how to build kassadin so his win rate looks kinda crappy, but in reality kassadin mains are going crazy right now. I just played my VERY FIRST GAME as kassadin today, and i went 16-8-9. All i had to do was play safe till i hit my 2 item power spike and i started blowing everyone up except the super fed enemy top laner, i ended up carrying that game, FIRST GAME AS KASSADIN TOO (though ive watched plenty of guides on how to play, and build him correctly). So if kassadin gets any buffs, he needs nerfs first otherwise he is going to be god like crazy op and will end up getting nerfed into the ground again, i for one would like to get better with the champ and would very much prefer him to be a champion that is strong in the right hands, but crap in players who dont know him. Even most higher level players dont know how to build kassadin correctly. I learned from a masters kassadin main who currently has a 81% win rate with Kassadin (his name is TheGrot if you want to check out how he builds kassadin)

I don't think Kass is in a good spot, but his playstyle is at fault there, to me. A champion with that many flashes and based generally around burst is not going to be healthy without some strong counterplay measures thrown in.

Elise is okay, though, in my book. She's just a hard one to play right. If the focus of your play is on her Q-R-Q entirely, I don't think you'll have much luck, as with any champion. I still play her a good bit, but have had more success with Cho as of late. He just has the durability to pull off bursty assassinations, and then just walk back out. The assassination bonus added recently is definitely a plus.
