Anivia issues

Facing Anivia in the current meta, at least to me, is annoying as hell. She has several problems going on with her gameplay that I'd like to adress in this post.

To start off, I dont know if this is a problem of the legendary skin or if it happens with base Anivia as well, but her Q hitbox is not properly displayed at all, or its bigger than normal. As you can see here the blue ball doesnt even touch me and besides that there is no other particle to specify the hitbox of the skill. Here is another Q shot, in this case it kinda makes sense that it hit me but still I was out of the ''displayed'' hitbox.

The second problem is her massive damage output even early into the game. As far as I'm concerned, Anivia is a scaling champion, she needs time and items to be in a good spot, or at least thats what I thought, here you have Anivia basically one comboing me, thats Anivia with only Tear as an item. That damage makes no sense for probably the worst early game item stat wise, and aside from that, Anivia doesnt even have any mana scaling ability. Even Ryze whose abilities scale with mana wouldnt be able to one combo his enemy at lvl 6, I've played a lot of Ryze and I can assure you he needs at least around 2 full rotations of spells to take someone from 100-0. So why can a champion with no mana scaling burst people building only mana? I dont know.

And the last thing I want to discuss, Anivia's whole kit is all based around zoning and control, I imagine the trickiest mechanic of the champion is to position both your wall and your ulti in such a way that allows your Q to hit easier and mess a lot with the enemy movement. A late game ulti is already very painful to fight against since the area is pretty big and the only way to counter it aside from not walking over the ult is stunning her or obviously staying out, which in a teamfight may also force you to stay out of your own damage range. This is all cool and makes up for a great zoning mage, but now the actual question is. Why does she have both massive AoE sustained damage and a goddamn massive AP crit nuke? That ability feels so out of place. Even her ER combo got nerfed so that it could only be done with a charged ult, but still, the hyper low cooldown of that ability and the massive damage it puts out even in the early stages makes no sense in a control mage. She basically has a mini Syndra ultimate on a 5 sec cooldown. Another very famous example of crit AP damage is Ryze, the difference between Ryze and Anivia, is that Ryze's Qs take much longer to deal a considerable amount of damage, Ryze needs items, he needs to actually scale. Anivia can just crit burst building mana.

Here you have another example of Anivia spamming E 3 times in the span of about 17 seconds. As you can see, around the end of the clip, she used E twice because her crit AP nuke has 5 sec cooldown at all ranks without cooldown reduction.

Now if all of this wasnt enough, aside the fact that engaging on Anivia is not easy, her buildpath allows her to get pretty tanky, making her very hard to kill. She has a Swain-like health pool while exceeding his range by far along with a second shot at life with her passive, just in case she wasnt a tanky enough mage. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Anivia is the squishiest champion in the game. She has some of the lowest base health and her passive early actually gives her reduced resistances, about -25 armor and MR early game. That combined with her need for mana and no mobility mean that she is very vulnerable to some matchups. Not to mention her skill requirement for W. She scales like a beast because she's meant to be a carry.
