Why one trick a champion

I don't think my question needs any more explanation, but I've been told one tricking a champion is good in low ranks because it can help you learn the game but what can it help me learn and is it a good idea?

The basic idea is that by repeatedly playing one champion, you will become familiar with that champions and learn their match-ups, limits and playstyle throughout the game.

Having this knowledge means that you don't need to concentrate so much on you champion's mechanics and can instead focus more on decision-making.

I'm not a huge fan of one-tricking myself since I'd get rather bored pretty quickly. Personally, I tend to spam champions as I feel like it and I have built up a champion pool over the years of champions I both like and am experienced with.

Match ups... and knowledge... auto canceling, damage potential and various other nuances are very important. But im a fan of one roling. Pick a role and main that and stick with that to learn matchups and junk. but only pick like 4 champs AP, Ad, tank and backup
