The Gradual decay of AP champions

I have played this game for nearly 5 years now and it has always been a downward slope for AP champions. They chip away at it every season. Removed DFG, removed Mana regen items, removed mr reduction from abyssal, nerfed zhonya's, nerfed chalice and moved it to support item. All the while buffing and giving new and better items to AD champions mainly assassins. It has come to the point in my opinion now that you are at a disadvantage automatically at the loading screen if you are AP against AD.

Lux was the first champion i ever played in this game and i have always been really good at playing her. But now a days it does not seem to matter how good you are, land every skill shot possible and you still lose. You land everything perfectly including your ult and the enemy AD with his one stupid MR item and they lose maybe one 3rd of their health and yes i have void staff. To add insult to injury they then proceed to use their gap close and 1 shot you while your abilities are on a 5 day cool down and theirs a few seconds.

I find it impossible to peel anyone any more with lux. Land root and cast singularity in front of them so they have to walk the whole distance it dont seem to matter. I have given up hope that riot will ever fix ap champions in this game. I feel they are trying to push AP into strictly support roles.

I remember the days when ahri was actually an assassin and could 100-0 champions just like she should have been able to, you know like current AD assassins. Now good luck with that... in most cases if you engage an ad assassin with ahri you end up having to run away with your ult.

Its ridiculous how things are now, AP has been reduced to trying to poke them down and by the time they are low enough to actually kill no mana left to do so. So its either recall to get mana and let them push your lane or stay and suffer with out abilities. Whats even more frustrating is you used to be able to use your abilities to farm but now since their cost has not been reduced despite the removal of mana regen items it is very difficult if not impossible to do so efficiently and still have any hope and a prayer to kill the enemy AD champion your up against.

I guess the only thing i can do is look back at how great AP used to be compared to the garbage it is now.

One thing Lux can do that assassins can't is.. actually assassinate ADCs. If you catch one in your binding and E R, they're dead 100%. A LB, for example would blow all of her abilities and still die because of the lockout. Same for Talon, Kata, and especially Akali. She also is under the radar atm, I personally put her in the same tier as Syndra for what she does late game, but most would disagree - giving you the advantage of being able to pick her every game.

Her assassination potential puts you way ahead of most actual assassins that aren't Rengar and Kha'Zix. Not to mention all the utility from shield. Lux is in a pretty good spot right now imo. Just because she hasn't been given Night's Edge or whatnot isnt a big deal, she has access to Hourglass - by far the strongest item active in the game. Mana regen items have been removed, but mana regen across the board is buffed. Lux has really high mana costs though, but once you get Morello, or even lost chapter, your mana problems are kind of over.

I think in comparison to all of the assassins that were just butchered, Lux is looking pretty good right now.
