Why would I ever want to honor someone in my team if the whole team was toxic? It will happen eventually.

No, I don't. I've had a couple games where I gave no honour because there was constant infighting. Those games (unless there is a non-tilter) do not deserve honour. At all.

I don't honor anyone unless someone genuinely stood out in the game and made me want to show gratitude. Forcing people to give honor without a reason completely devalues those who actually deserve it.

Theres usually at least someone who isn't a raging disaster, and you get a small bonus if everyone honours (even if you don't personally receive any), so I feel like things need to be a pretty big dumpster fire before I skip honouring, and that's likely true for many players.

For those few dumpster fire situations though, it'd feel pretty bad to 'have' to honour someone who contributed to the fire.

You are able to not honor anyone in the new system. Small button under your teammates names, says something like "Not this time" or something like that.
