Pretty upset that Dominion is getting the boot.

Mostly because there's nothing wrong wrong with the gamemode or the map besides population. When Riot talks about the gamemeode being taken down they talk about how they only believe in the Featured style and how they never wanted to support Dominion because of it's low population.

In the post, Riot admits that it was their fault for not supporting the map but they explain it was because the map didn't take off very well and has forever since being in a spiral.

They respond to it's lack of interests with abandonment and now those who play the gamemode, causally or religiously are punished for it.

Dominion is fun and every since I've started playing League two years ago I've been seeing more than a few threads asking for Riot to put some faith into the mode. Probably my favorite featured gamemode was Ascension because The Crystal Scar is a great map. The map is no longer even being featured in custom games which is even worst because Riot released a post about playing X custom games, several of which are mostly or only played on The Crystal Scar. That now kind of feels like they were saying.

"Play it now before we stop your fun!"

Which seems to be Riots vision of League they were talking about in the post. They bring it up multiple times and referring to how the Rift is the perfect map and shooting out Dominion because it apparently has tons of bugs and is destroyed by new champion releases. Out of context everyone would think you were talking about Summoners Rift because that map explodes the second you do anything differently and I do me anything.

Add dragon stacks, BOOM! Champion released, BOOOOOOOOM! Add Scuttle Crab, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Towers get nerfed, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Two people playing as the same champion, BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Champoion gets updated BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! Hey look a new assassin item, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nnbWP82taM

Literally everything destroys Summoners Rift and it usually takes months for Riot to balance it. Yet Riot calls out Dominion for being broke when the there isn't any scent of anything being OP on that map. If anything it's the most balanced map in the game with only stacking champions getting hurt by it because of obvious reasons but to fix that all you'd need to do is give them a flat amount of stacks per level. BAM!

See Dominion doesn't EXPLODE when you make a change to it, it simply pops like a firecracker and all is good.

The worst thing about this is that it just feels like Riot doesn't want fun in League. Dominion was the best place to chill and play without being forced into a role and it's removal just feels sour. As if there's an ulterior motive to getting this gamemode out of the way. It'd be easier if we knew what that reason was but since Riot hasn't said nothing on it (to my knowledge) I'm assuming it's not something the players get in return.

It's best to be hush hush on those kind of topics which is just good businesses these days. See Fine Bros.

Excuse me it's been awhile but I'm going to go play some Dominion. I didn't think it'd come to a sudden end like this but atleast there's a very minor reward for playing the gamemode. It's a sticker :/

Something is better than nothing, right?
