Taliyah

Any tips on laning against her? She does insane amounts of damage (even with just her Q) at every stage of the game. I mainly play assassins like Zed and Talon, with the occasional Yasuo.

The real question is why is someone playing Taliyah in a lane after her changes

As someone who mains Taliyah in the midlane, here are a few tips for playing around threaded volley. Either get out of her line of fire or just stand in or behind minions since it no longer has splash damage. If you're close to her then you can dodge it by moving to the other side of her. At early levels it's on a decent cooldown so you can also take advantage of that if she burns it for waveclear or harass. Zed R and Yasuo E and W are all good tools for dealing with it.

Also, I'm genuinely impressed that you managed to run into enough Taliyah players for it to become a problem.

Do you see that worked ground? The shaded spherical area in the lane, while she's in there she can only Q one (yup, 1) stone at you but her mana cost is also 1. So, if you see her on clear ground just be cautious of her 5-rock Q. I find it rather amusing sometimes that some players are not quite sure what to do when Tali cast her E. NEVER BURST through her E. It's true damage (I think). Yas, Akali, Katarina E, etc all are vulnerable to this massive damage. You're right, in most of my games, I actually got the highest damage.

  1. When you're low in health, you see that she's low in mana, AND she's in her worked ground, don't underestimate her Q. That 1 rock with ignite can still kill you.
  2. Ward either of your bushes and try to CS close to the walls especially before she gets MPen boots. I like CS'ing from close to the wall because my passive allows me to move faster with my hoverboard. LOL. Before she got nerfed, she had increased speed in her while in her worked ground. If you keep her away from the walls, she'll get max 345 movement speed.
  3. No Taliyah player will ult against her mid opponent openly. But if you're taking tower, she might just appear behind you from somewhere and W/E you into her tower. Hasta la vista baby. LOL. Good luck!
