questions about positioning and harassing as support.

so I normally sit in the bushes and poke out of there if I can get harass because they can't see me until it's too late, however this also leaves me hyper extended with the longest path back to tower should we get ganked and the last person to know if I had no wards. I've also been trying taking waterwalking and sitting on the other side of the wave half in the river which extends natural vision and gives me basically a free boots and some extra damage. however I've not been paying all that much attention as to how far the river actually extends and whether that's an effective trading range in most cases. do any of you know if this tactic is well known or works well?

You shouldn't be in the river enough early on that waterwalking is good. It is really for certain jgs and midlane roamers.

If you are a poke champ of any sort, Scorch is best on that line. If you are a healer/shielder, GS (or Scorch if you poke a lot).

Positioning depends on the matchup, the enemy jg, your warding....adapting is the best way. Bushes are great, as long as you don't over extend...now if you have vision in the river and can see the enemy jg coming from a ways off, you can move up a little. Make sure not to hide in bushes that are warded, ofc. You know how to use mins to check for enemy vision right?

Never heard of this strat but If it's effective keep doing it.

You don't always need a ward to tell if a gank is coming. Always look at the mini map to see if the enemy jungler has been spotted and keep in mind where their last location was before they gone back into the fog of war.

For example i see the enemy kha spotted by a ward top lane, that's my chance to go hyper aggressive with my poking on the enemy adc/support cause i now know the enemy jungle is too far to punish me for it. Or kha just ganked mid lane and was last seen leaving the lane through bottom side mid lane bush, now i know i need to be passive cause he is somewhere on bottom side of the map.

Another way to tell is by the enemy movements, if they were playing passive and then suddenly try to play aggro (like moving up to trade with you when previously they were too scared to start trades) you're about to get ganked.

Also if you know bot lane leashed for the jungler then in most cases you don't have to worry about being the first lane the jungler ganks.
