Ekko does have counterplay

Ekko has specific paths that can play around him. 1) Burst 2) Poke 3)Trading

  1. Burst Ekko's damage gets more and more dangerous and reliable the longer he stays in a fight. If you use burst very quickly after he joins in a fight he will be forced into ulting to escape well simultaneously making it dangerous for him to land his damage from his other spells. So don't try to fight skirmishes against him because he will probably win.

  2. Poke Alot of Ekko's strength comes from his ability to go into a fight and then heal an insane amount instantly. However poke is damage that he doesn't want to use his ult on so it weakens him and makes his engages much much more risky. On a side note grievous wounds before his ult is good.

  3. Trading This is much harder to do because he does have a shield but you just need to trade in such a way that he doesn't get to use it to protect his health bar. Playing passive when his w is up or baiting it out are both viable strategies. Once his shield is down it makes it a lot riskier for him to engage or trade which is good for you.

Ekko might be overtuned but first wait a bit to see how people handle him once people are familiar to playing against him because he does have very clear weaknesses. He is dangerous in extended fights and bad in short fights. SO keep that in mind the next time you play against Ekko and maybe things will go better for you.

Riot messed up on this dude and created a second Leblanc. He is the prince of burst if Leblanc is queen. Honestly, either ban or first pick him.

He's bait-and-flip type, much like Teemo and Singed. If you just poke and leave, he's useless, if you blindly follow into his W/R, you're dead.

Keep in mind, Ekko cannot reliably hit with W and R, it's YOU who walk into it.

To be perfectly honest, we should take a wait and see stance on ecko, personally i havent had any problems beating him. This may be to A. people are still figuring him out or B. he isnt actually OP. Lets give it at least 2 weeks. Hell a week would be better then what we have now.

ekko does have SOME counterplay yes. but ekko can also turn on you with less than 100 hp left when you have full hp and still beat you. becuase this shield is freaking HUGE his ulti damage and regen are insane and FREE. he has good mobility and insane burst.

it doesn't sit right whith me when i can get someone to less than 200 health when i have full hp and they can still win that fight when we have the same amount of gold. not sayign ekko is the only person who can do that.. zed can too as can leblanc. but hoesntly these are 2 other champs that have the same issue as ekko if not quite as bad is ekko

Yes let's burst the champion who can turn back time.

His only reliable counterplay atm is the ban phase.

I think the biggest problem (pending further testing) is his Shield/Stun. If he gets that off on you he's essentially going to get completely free trades off on you; and he can possibly even kill you.

Not to mention counting his dash and blink he's got, effectively, a 700+ range blink to get right on top of you.

I came into this thread expecting the counterplay to be

"you don't have to play league".

What a letdown.

Hit him, run away, and he can't do much other than throw a mediocre damage Q on you.

I've gone top against him a couple times as Jayce and had very little problem with him, actually won my lane every time
