Hextech Crafting Suggestion - 2 chests per champion, per season

Hello, hello~ For all you who don't care for detail, I've got a TL:DR for you at the bottom. :D

Hextech Crafting is the new free rewards system Riot has installed into the game not too long ago. This being the first season it's being tested, naturally some problems might be found or some suggestions will be made.

And so with that, I would like to address the Hextech chest earning system real fast. Right now things are set so you can earn a single chest per champion, per season so long as you have a chest available to earn. These chests are earned on a champion if you or a friend (from a premade) earn an S rank from a game. Now, regardless of whether you are you friend got the S, that champion is now void from earning a chest until next season.

Here in lies the problem though; as the season goes on, there are going to be plenty of players no longer able to continuing earning chests due to two problems. The first being a level of skill on various champions that many new players might not have yet. The second being that many newer players lack a good deal of champions to their champion pool.

Let's say you're a newish player to League but you're very skilled at MOBAs and League is coming quite naturally to you. Hextech Crafting comes out, but not only do you lack enough champions to fully take advantage of it the whole season, but you also only have a single chance to earn chests from champions you're actually good at. Meaning, once you've earned those chests, you're now left with the champions you own that you're not good with. Maybe ones you thought you would like and are actually really bad with. Or all those ADC champions you own from back when you mained ADC before realizing mages are soooo much better. '>.>

Why this is a problem; for many casual players such as myself, there is a certain collection aspect almost that goes into League for us. We try our best at the game but mostly we're here for fun. Such things like IP summoner icons or trying to own all the champions in the game are appealing to get while we play. For some of the more, well, stupid players like myself who've sold our souls to Riot (joking of course), skins are a pretty large part of the collection aspect. Skin sales and deals are a huge step in saving some money I'm foolishly spending. So Hextech Crafting now is a win, win in that I can continue to collect more and work to better myself at the game.

The solution: if you ask me, I think simply making it so players can earn two chests per champion, per season would be the best fix for all of this. It would allow new players to take advantage of Hextech Crafting still and not force low skilled players to try to play a role or champion they're not good at to earn a chest. With the cooldown on how many chests you have available, simply having a better chance at actually getting the ones you do have is the point. Just the general freedom to feel like Hextech Crafting is truly a free rewards system for everyone and not just something only to be enjoyed by just long time players or the skilled at the game.

TL:DR Right now chests are earned in a fashion of a single chest per champion, per season. Once you or a friend (from a premade) earn an S rank after a game, whatever champion you were using is void from earning a chest until next season. For many new or unskilled players, this is a problem because either they lack enough champions to properly take advantage of Hextech Crafting or they are being thrown out of their comfort zone before long and are then being forced into a role or champion they're not good with to try an a chest. The solution could be simple enough as making it so you can earn two chests per champion, per season.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, even if it was just the TL:DR. Hopefully it was of some interest and a topic worth breaching. :33
