Aatrox' Rework Looks Awesome

So, this will probably be my last post about all this lol. I mostly just want to thank riot for their work. Their artists are amazing and VO certainly took time and effort.

  • The Rework Was Announced A Long Long Time Ago

I keep asking, why did so many people start playing him then? I don't even mean like when he was released... after he was announced for a rework. And not just a rework, a total, from ground-up, rework. Riot even said it was their Biggest gameplay rework for any champion so far. Why start playing a champion when he was announced for a rework? I mean not everyone did but sooo many people just hopped on him to get those, for all other lack of a better answer, cool points. Just to try to get that authority over him and one day participate in another episode of "Riot You Ruined My Champion!".

  • Generic? You mean Auto-attacking isn't generic?

I can't even list the eight or nine champions that focus around auto attacking all day long in this game. You all know who they are. There are plenty of them and are not extremely unique. Aatrox is the first champion to take a page out of the riven playbook and everyone loses their shit lol. Its an immensely obvious contradiction that isn't even considered due to the blind rage that he's just not an auto attack champ anymore.

  • Art Style and Clarity

Again, nothing new here. Not a surprise at all. Riot has continuously been favoring crisper, clearer models over higher detailed models yet every freaking time (and I mean it. EVERY TIME.) people get hysterical and showcase a side-by side comparison of how bad the new one is because its such a downgrade. The lack of fine details is intentional. The idea is to compliment clearer gameplay. When you zoom out on legacy aatrox, he loses a lot of those details and they become meshy. No matter how many times people explain this, however, people still don't absorb it. I am almost positive that a future rework will have people complaining about the model losing detail.

And that's really all I have to say. I am extremely excited to play Aatrox, even more so than I was when he was first released. He seems to really invite players who've been looking for a greatsword wielding champion with some fun, involved mechanics.

Much appreciated, Riot.
