Teambuilder was a better casual experience than Dynamic queue is now

Look, I get it. Teambuilder isn't coming back. I came to terms with this and I've been learning to adapt to Dynamic queue. After all, change is good..right? Khazix

Can we at least admit that right now Dynamic queue is a poorer normals experience than teambuilder was?

DQ in its current state takes just as long, if not longer, to go from hitting the "play button" to getting into a match than TB had before. Well, unless you pick support or fill (which is the same as picking support), then you cut out some of the waiting. Add players intentionally, or unintentionally not locking their ban/picks and what you get is a lot of time waiting. Dodges are seriously bogging down the experience, it is obnoxious to go through the ban and selection phases 2-3 times to finally get a game_ started_.

With TB, you knew you'd be waiting for a few minutes if you wanted to play Mid/Top. However, if someone bailed because they didn't like the comp it didn't affect your selection, it simply meant waiting a few more minutes for that support/AD etc etc. Considering TB let you play what champion you wanted in what lane you wanted (excluding trolls obviously) I always found it worth the wait. DQ, as intended, does not guarantee a certain champion in a specific lane. The system makes it possible to get you your top two choices, but there is still no guarantee that which champion you wanted doesn't get banned or picked by your opponent.

How are you supposed to practice a champion who is considered strong in the current state of the game if they consistently get banned?

I find that the overall casual experience took a step down between teambuilder and dynamic queue. I won't stop playing dynamic queue, it is still better than blind pick in my opinion. I enjoy playing this game still, but it is the process of getting into this game that irritates me.

TL;DR Right now, pros of Dynamic Queue don't outweigh pros of teambuilder in normal games

I'd like to add that, if you're picking support/support you're pretty much better off playing blind, since you'll still get you role 90% of the time, and not risk your champion being banned, or picked by the opposing team. And frankly, maybe it's just the player base, but people were picked more fun comps than in DQ. I feel like the pool of picked champions was a lot more varied in teambuilder.

All of this for normal games of course. At this point, I've started going back to twisted treeline.
