I started playing league of legends last summer, in S6 I was placed Silver 5 demoted to Bronze 2 and finished the season with Bronze 2. S7 I get 6 wins and 4 losses in my placements, get placed Bronze 5 I get out of bronze pretty quickly and get to Silver 5 also get to Silver 4 right after but then I get demoted, promoted, demoted so I got demoted like 3 times.I took a break from ranked, then played again so I got promoted to Silver 4 currently but lost 3 games in a row,why is it as soon as I get to silver 4 I can't win games anymore? If you keep bouncing between 1-2 ranks its where your skill level is but over time and with more experience it will improve

  1. Pick a Solo Lane (Mid, Top... MAYBE Jg). Don't go Bot.

  2. Pick one champion and keep playing that one champion until you know him inside out; you have to be able to win the lane more than 50% of the time (and by win I don't mean just have a CS lead or force them to back, I mean going 1-0 or 2-0 in laning)... practice a few back up champs but PLAY THE ONE CHAMP first and foremost

easy to climb with: Tanky Fighters, Mages

hard to climb with: Assassins, Skirmishers, squishy Divers, Pro-active aggressive Supports

"nearly impossible" to climb with: ADCs, Shield/heal supports

Don't like Junglers because half the games all your lanes will be pushing and you will be frustrated

  1. Focus on defending and taking towers... Ping your team all the time to move around the map to rotate, to stop chasing, or to group... pretend that you're a Red Alert 2 commander just issuing orders all the time with Pings, its low elo and people need some guidance and you probably know better

Baron > Towers > Dragons

  1. If your team starts a Baron before level 13, 80% of the time ping them to STOP DOING IT; its one of the most common ways to throw game and its almost ALWAYS (but not always) a bad idea

  2. Look for opportunities to safely attack minion waves on the map at all times (believe it or not, you can lose games just because your team doesn't attack minions enough due to the build up of minion pressure). Its not as glorious as fighting champions but someone should always be attacking minions somewhere where its safe to do so.

It comes down to mechanics, game knowledge and teamwork. My suggestions would be:

  1. Pick one or two roles you would like to main and have at least 2 - 3 champions that you can play well in each role.
  2. Use Custom games or the Practice Tool to work on your mechanics, combos and try out new champions/item builds.
  3. Communicate with your team as much as possible in game and remind them about dragon timers, baron timers, summoner spell cooldowns, etc.
  4. Ward often and keep the map lit up. Vision helps to secure objectives and makes teamfighting in the jungle much easier.
  5. Practice makes perfect. The more you play, the better you'll get.
  6. If you start going on a losing streak, take a break from ranked and play other game modes to get rid of your stress while keeping your mechanics fresh.
  7. Learn about matchups and other facts like champion spell cooldowns, spell damage, damage types, etc. to improve your overall knowledge of the game.

Full disclosure: You're at the rank you belong. Focus on improving your odds of winning and you'll start climbing. You cant win every game but focusing and making sure that you tip the odds in your favor in most is the way to climb.

Just an interesting tip for you... just fill and get hopefully carried... it might get you out of silver.

But you also needs to learn each roles if possible.

Silver 5 is hard to get out of. I'm at 94 lp right now so I might be close but all it takes is a bad team to set me back.
