Game Health: Please fix these issues
There is something fundamentally wrong with this game when a level 30 can be placed in a game with someone who can't even have a keystone yet. When just about every game your team, or the enemy team has a feeder. When in every other game there is a flamer/troll. When only 10% or less matches are going to the 20 minute mark without a teammate single handedly screwing the entire team over and without a flamer/troll. When your players are hoping they get a flamer this match instead of a feeder or troll. I know its not just me because I come on here multiple times a day and I always see a post about this on the front page. How long do we have to complain about this before it is addressed?
To specify the issue of late I will split it into two parts: player behavior and matchmaking.
Matchmaking: Players are being put into games with people that are of a significant mmr difference from themselves. I have read numerous posts about how people are getting match-made with people that don't have keystones available(in normals) and much lower/higher ranked players(in ranked). Some examples of things I've read about the ranked problems(I don't play ranked enough to confirm this and won't play it for a while due to this issue, however I can confirm the normals part) are that a platinum player will be paired with silver teammates, or a gold player will be up against a bunch of diamonds. I've also read that the more you recently win, the more likely things like this will happen to you(and I have seen this as a trend personally as well). Examples of my claims I can tell you about is that in the past month I have been put on the same team or against a team with someone who isnt high enough level for a keystone close to 10 times, on top of that I sometimes get people that clearly just don't know what theyre doing(had one guy coached through every decision the entire game by a teammate today). I know that matchmaking is currently done by taking players within a certain mmr range and putting them into two teams so that the average mmr of both teams is about equal. The problem currently appears to be that the initial range is way too big, that or the recent addition of autofill has greatly affected recent win rates, but they haven't played enough recent games to affect their total mmr(not sure if it works that way but seems plausible). So can anything be done to confirm one of these and fix it?
Player Behavior: I have seen a rise in toxicity/flaming/trolling recently and I think I know why. People have realized how hard it is to actually get banned. I played a game before I started writing this, and the guy started throwing hard because he died once. He was also flaming our top and bot, and threatening to afk if we didnt surrender. All because he wanted an S. And when we said we would report him his reply was: go ahead, it wont do anything, and even if it did this is my alt account you bronzees. And you know what, he is right. I have seen many people saying the same thing recently after doing reportable things, we report them, and no popup saying they got banned, toxicity rates just keep increasing, and more people say it does nothing. Even the complaints on the boards about getting banned seem to have greatly decreased. On top of this, the dodge rates have greatly increased ever since autofill. Its a great idea and all, but I don't want to spend ten minutes waiting to get past all the dodges any more than I did just to wait in queues before autofill. There needs to be some actual punishment for this stuff. Again, I'm not sure exactly how your systems work, but can't we have an escalating punishment for toxicity, dodging, etc. For example: A point system for deplorable behavior where a dodge is 1 point, flaming is 2 points, afk is 1 point, and inting/griefing is 3 points. Each consecutive game of the same offense gives the points of it multiplied by the times in a row(if I flame 3 games in a row, I will get 2 the first game, 4 the second, and 6 the third. At 1 point its a 5 minute wait to play, at 2 and 3 its 15, at 4 5 and 6 its a half hour. At 7 its a half hour wait + low priority queue for a game, at 8-17 its more low priority queue stuff and a half hour wait(because lets be frank, if you get up here youre probably not going up 1 point at a time), at 18 its a day long ban and 17's punishment without 30 min wait time, another shortly after that is week long ban. Another shortly after that is a manual audit. If you get reported for multiple things after a match, only the highest point amount counts(after multiplier is applied if applicable). Makes it hard for people who have bad internet to get harshly punished, while swiftly punishing(while giving them plenty of room to change before its too severe) those that no one wants to play with. Its also based on games instead of time so that they can't just circumvent the higher punishments by not playing for a bit. Like I said, it seems extremely common that people are doing reportable things lately and can rightfully claim that there are no consequences(or so it appears that they can from my perspective). And again, I'm not the only one on here talking about this, so can Riot at least start by recognizing it as an issue(or at the bare minimum look into our claims).
TLDR: Rant about wanting Riot to matchmake with people of similar skill instead of seemingly anyone they can find to make team average mmr equal(tired of winning lane or at least not feeding each match, just for some other teammate to feed so hard that we can't stop that person; tired of realizing a need for surrender pre 15 minutes). Rant about to many trolls and flamers, Riot please actually start banning people(Tired of some guy who thinks he is jesus screaming at people in chat; tired of spam pingers; tired of people stealing roles; tired of inters; tired of junglers refusing to gank someone because they dont like them; tired of people not helping teammates because "youre bad").
Sidenotes: Can we stop blaming someone for dying a lot to YOUR fed laner? And can we stop blaming someone for losing lane when theyve been pinging for help the entire game but the jungler wont help?(especially if theyre staying under tower and still dying because tower diving exists?) Also sorry if this comes off as a bit harsh, but Im reallllly pissed that this is all I seem to be experiencing lately. I cant even remember the last day when I had more than one or two games of 10+ where a teammate doesnt feed and there isnt someone making the experience unbearable through reportable means.
