Serious Veigar Changes to Make Him Both Good and Healthy for the Game

I can understand why Riot would want to remove an instantaneous stun from the game, especially an aoe stun. However, because this was formerly his only defensive ability, now he is left with nothing to defend himself with but his squishy base stats. This is simply unacceptable for a champion, especially in a game currently dominated by tanky champions and mobility based champions. For this reason, his stun still needs to be altered.

If we look at the pros and cons of Veigar s old stun in terms of both him and healthiness of the game:

Pros:

  • He could actually peel himself, if only for 2 seconds every 14 seconds.

  • Veigar had a decent winrate.

  • If you were skilled enough, you could outplay any champion in the game.

Cons:

  • He started seeing play as an "instant long ranged stun" support.

  • If you were skilled enough, there was nothing the enemy could do about him.

These cons are enough to have the instant stun removed, and i get that. However, the ability to peel himself is hugely important to him actually being able to do things in game, especially given his new stacking-oriented gameplay. Therefore, what he needs is this:

An instant stun on the wall closest to him, and having a delayed appearance on the farthest wall.

I don't have any art skills, so i can't show how it would appear in game, (or if it looked good) but it would look something like the picture below.

This new stun has the benefits of both the new stun and the old, without the drawbacks of either. You could still outplay a Veigar, but Veigar can outplay you. You can actually peel for yourself. You can't catch people from 5000 miles away on support Veigar.

Versus specific champions, Veigar would have specific strengths and weaknesses (in the current meta). He would be strong vs Leblanc and Katarina , but weak vs Xerath and Velkoz .

Riot, please respond to this post. I really feel like this change would cement him as a healthy midlaner, and I would love it to be implemented into the game.

This idea has been proposed time and time again. I've personally read through three different people who've all come up with three variations of this same concept.

Not one of them was replied to by Riot.

If Riot grows some legal balls and decides to take your guys' ideas, I'm all for it. But I wouldn't count on it.

Love the idea, but doubt riot will do anything for it.

They have Veigar where they want him: Dead.

I think the biggest issue with this would be coding. It would have to be 5 separate walls. Other then that its an amazing idea.
