Open mind, but im still uncertain

I'm no ranked player per say, but I have played my fair share and this is the first post I have made regarding this game because up to this point I was pleased. But unfortunately my first night with this "Update" struck quite a few nerves with me. While I am 100% certain others have stated these points previously, I am just doing my due diligence in reporting to RIOT what I think could be improved upon. First, when I lock in my two choices, its takes 2-5 tries just to get 8 people to join the match. So #1 , while it may not be accurate, it FEELS like I am waiting longer on more people and doing so I have to be More present to respond to 5 Match requests. #2, When I did finally join my first game last night, my first team was toxic in that they banned the champ I had selected to play (kat), saying they were too overpowered to leave any chance. Okay, annoying, but fair enough. I then chose Ahri as my second choice. It was at this point another person told my team to ban Ahri. Now I am slightly upset by how toxic the second step of finding my playable character can be. Not only does Riot get to choose what Role I play, but my other "team" members get to choose what character I play... This model could be great if communication were ever present, but alas, not all match ups are ranked and typically people care very little. Even today when I tried to find a good match up, I noticed our team did not have any fighter/tank.#3, I pointed this out to my team, non of which seemed to have any desire to remedy this issue I had, and now as I try to remove myself from an um-communicative team, I GET PENALIZED FOR FIVE to FIFTEEN MINUTES. What did I do wrong now that was different from my previous team builder setup where I could remove myself from un-communicative players and find a better team composition?

As a descent player, I don't think my team should be able to ban 2-3 players that they know I potentially want to play, and then I receive punishment when I am forced to play a character I don't want to play via time penalties or playing someone I truly cannot play to my standards. Also, throughout my entire experience of this new update, the thing that is always in the back of my head during these bans and whatnot is, this sure SEEMS to be taking a lot longer than before. So streamlined this new feature is not. I wish it was, but it does seem to add several more minutes to the entire experience.

I hope this message came across as somewhat constructive criticism without as much construction as criticism admittedly . But that's why I don't get paid to make games better, that is your job, I am just hear to speak my mind and thank you for hopefully listening. :D
