Where do y'all go when the game starts?

I don't understand where everyone goes before the game starts. When you press the Accept button, you might as well tie your ass to your chair for the next 45 min. Showing up after the minions spawn is and should be considered trolling. Milliseconds change a game in League, much less being 2 full minutes behind the rest of the game because you didn't get your shit together before you accepted the game.
