Marksmen Top lane, help needed

This isn't me being bronze, I watch platinum and diamond streamers struggle with this too. So I'm asking legit questions here. This isn't me just whining...

How do you play a top lane tank anymore? Marksmen were always a bother top lane but you could use a combination of runes and masteries to compensate for them being there. You would start a little slower, but eventually even out with them.

Now with this new rune system, the resolve tree doen't offer much in the way of defense, and precision, domination, and sorcery all consist of highly over-tuned damage. In the early game there isn't enough in the way of def to balance all the damage from those trees. Marksmen can poke tanks right out of lane with no fear.

Farming under tower isn't the answer. You have to push the wave to the edge of tower range or watch your tower slowly melt, do that and get poked down again. Punch back and draw minion aggro on top of dealing with the marksmen. Again, I've watched high elo players with the same struggles.

@riot are you going to balance this, because right now I have no answers...
