Why I feel let down by Riot after spending years of my life learning Nautilus jungle

Back in season 5 there was this comment by Riot on the 5.5 patch notes "By being the cornerstone to both his offensive AND defensive ability, Titan's Wrath forces Nautilus into a playstyle that is very binary - break the shield and he's harmless, or suffer if you fail to do so. Shifting power into Riptide lets him clear faster and take more actions per teamfight, which are two key areas we thought were weighing him down."

Like some things, Riot could not foresee this would create top lane Nautilus, which allowed him to become a pushing menace that could clear waves, become tanky and provide great utility for the team all at once. Like most tanks that succeed in lane, Riot quickly decided that top lane Nautilus' playstyle was toxic and unhealthy so that his E's mana costs were raised.

In summary, his shield was nerfed to shift power to his e for better jungle clears. Then his e was nerfed so that he would get kicked out of top lane. You would think that they would just return the power back to his shield and switch him back to old Nautilus but this did not happen. Recently the damage on his hook was buffed which I assume was a fake buff so that people might start playing him because they saw Nautilus and buff on a patch note and didn't really read the fine print. Now he is stuck as a second tier support with high mana costs and a shield that scales on health, which is difficult to afford on a support's budget.

Nautilus doesn't have the mana after he needs to clear the jungle unless he grabs blue buff first, and even then it is a grind. To make matters worse, Ekko was given bonus damage to his jungle clears so that he would remain viable which Nautilus fans should have been flipping out over because Ekko is still a top tier mid and it's mind blowing he is getting help with a secondary position while the Naut man is floundering to have any real role.

Riot just needs to give his riptide some monster damage like they did to Ekko so that he can clear the jungle on his first clear. It's such a simple solution and would make him playable in his original role again.
