champ atk move
Hey, Silver mage player here
Ever since around three weeks ago, I've been playing with one of my mouse's side buttons bound to attack move click ― and hit upon something of a snag in my mechanics
granted, usually this isn't a problem, especially since I enabled the toggle to 'attack move on cursor,' but when I'm stutter-stepping away from an opponent to kite using my autos on a marksman, particularly if they're standing in a wave of hostile minions, it's possible for me to misclick and hit one of those
I enabled attack move primarily to improve my kiting by cutting down on instances where I have to flick my mouse repeatedly between the same point of empty terrain and one or more opponents, and having attack move on this setting does improve things a lot, particularly since my target is usually the one closest to where I'm putting my cursor in order to kite away out of pure happenstance ― through utilizing attack move, I can now focus more on positioning and timing rather than fixating on being any more than proximately accurate with my cursor, and it improved my cs somewhat as well, once I discovered the helpful little tidbit on Reddit that any ranged champion's auto attacks can be safely canceled after their projectile leaves the character model
but sometimes it can be a bit annoying if I get an auto-attack off, intending to engage an opposing laner, only for it to unexpectedly end up hitting a minion
recently I also discovered the "attack champions only" toggle, but was disappointed to find that it doesn't change the attack move algorithm's target acquisition, it merely changes which targets can be selected as your champion's primary in your game UI
is there any option which is even more error-proof than "attack move on cursor" which would cause my champion to automatically prioritize other players when an attack-move directive's target needs to be disambiguated?
