Has the community overvalued Micro?

Specifically, How do you dear reader feel about the following. Priority on Micro play mechanics has been lopsidedly overvalued to such an extent that Macro play is neglected game knowledge.

Now some follow up example questions.

Do you feel your average teammate/enemy is capable of playing from behind? Do you think your average teammate/enemy is capable of recognizing when they are the weaker player in their respective role? Do you see folks using a lead they built to gain strong advantages on the map? Do you see folks recovering from a lost lane to be relevant members of a team? Do you see player building for a solid team comp in lobby? Do you see player reacting to enemy picks and lane matchups in lobby? When you look up a player, do they cookie cutter a build or adapt game to game?

What is the vibe like, how do you guys feel. My bias should be pretty clear via the statement bout Macro being neglected but just gonna call out my own bias.

For transparency, I played last year in the MMR range from Silver to low Plat MMR and feel in all of them there had been common place macro calls that really should not be made as often as I feel like I experienced them.

I hope to see some other views and opinions.

No. We can lack in macro while still not overvaluing micro. People like to draw a line between macro and micro, but the reality is that they're a bit tangled together. Macro choices often require you to have a lead, and leads are typically the result of micro. Imo, micro is more valuable. If I had a choice between a team of 5 micro gods or 5 macro gods, I'd take the 5 micro gods because the macro gods are unlikely to find a lead.
