Yasuo armor pene on ulti

Hi guys, can I just ask, I know know much has been said about Yas and is still being said, lets not get into details.

Mainly I just wanted to ask if anyone doesn't feel that his ulti armor penetration is a bit unfair in the sense it applies to all enemies and not just enemies hit by his ulti?

I mean, lets says Im playing some fighter or tank and am good dodging skillshots and he never winds me, Im winning over yas, but then our sup randomly comes in to help me, yas ulties him and then refocuses me as he now gained what he needed to slice and dice through me and kill me

Now not looking to any discussion regarding counters, strengths, un-usability in certain elos, etc., lets set that aside and focus on this one aspect which to instead of promoting skill in every situation (who to ulti), might promoted unskilled behaviour in some situations (you ulti semi-randomly, but eventually still might come on top as you do get a major bonus out of it against all)...I think that Rito's ideology was to promote skill in every situation and penalize you for un-skill

pene is spanish for penis

Just delete the champion. His ban rate says enough.

I mean, if they made it apply to only targets hit by his ult, they'd then have to make the pen stronger or buff him in some other way...

Dodging his whirlwinds should be a major part of counterplay to Yasuo and in that vein I'm thinking that this could be a good change. However Yasuo (despite what the bronzies say) doesn't really need a major nerf. In terms of a power shift, why not make Yasuo's whirlwind deal more damage based on how many enemies he kills in the two Qs that come before? This would reward players that dodge whirlwind, while making him stronger against people who do not.

His armor pen is what allows Yasuo to build resitances as a carry melee champion and still be able to deal with tanks and beefy targets.

It isn't really problematic. Yasuo as a champion is fine.

I dont think that a 2.5 second suppression with massive damage needs Armor pen on it too especially when you consider all the other shit his kit does.

Well, Im happy such a long discussion started, I forgot I even posted this. At any rate, it is as I feared it fell down to arguing about winrates, him being overpowered and such. This was not the target, winrate doesn't tell a whole story, it is skewered at start of every patch, it is skewered by many people under 50 games with champs etc. Especially with Yas who is super popular I see this as an issue.

For me it simply boils down to mechanics, is it a good mechanic that he gets rewarded against champs he didn't hit? Imagine Illaoi doing a ulti and hitting 2 people of your team, but missing you, because you dodged that, but it would still spawn 3 tentacles because you were nearby so we don't care you did well and dodged. And well, this is how Yasuo armor pene on ulti feels, you can be the veeeery best, but if he ulties somebody else around, you might be done for as well (not always, just saying it might happen depending on what champ and build you have). And this ultimately feels unfair and unrewarding.

I doubt this one change would break hit kit in any way, it would simply promote a healthy correct playstyle that experienced players of him should already have - think before you ulti, ulti correctly. Instead of the current playstyle which is - well, even if you are a noob and play bad, and kinda missed the ulti on the wrong target, we will give you this (against some champs huge) reward for nothing.

Also bear in mind that you cannot dodge his wind if he charges through you, so for melee champions there is no counterplay and they will get ultied by him time and again. In addition anybody else can knock up target for him, the ulti range is huge enough to allow surprises.

What isn't fun about playing a resourceless, spam champ with superior mobility that can push relentlessly, requires a jg intervention to balance the matchup, can ultimate an entire team, and still get turret safety? While everyone else is playing by a more constraining set of rules, there's Yas, which is part of the riot mentality which really makes this game eat serious shit right now.

Don't you mean true damage? I'm pretty sure he hits 100 true damage with conqueror ulti infinity and last whisper

Yasuo's passive is already in some hot water because of the new IE reworks. I'm pretty sure i read something about riot changing his passive? [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Just another perfect example of unfair things Yasuo can get away with. If Riot would tighten up on the mechanics Yasuo has, he would actually be more fun to play against. Maybe at somepoint counter play will exist in some way against him and opponents will get rewarded for using counter play against him.
