Many Question About Minions

Hello Summoners,

I'd like to pick you brain for a moment if you've ever had these questions arise.

  1. How do minions choose the minions they will hit in lane?
  2. Sometimes, minions will change targets and hit another minion. Why?
  3. How do you de-aggro minions off yourself? When you hit an enemy champion with an auto attack the minions will focus on you sure. I understand that going into a bush is the fastest way, but can you manipulate your minion wave to shield you from the aggro you've generated on the enemy minion wave?

If you've figured it out, or there is a post somewhere about it please redirect me to it as I've yet to find it with the search option and google isn't turning up the results I'm seeking.

Thank you.

How do minions choose the minions they will hit in lane?

Minions walk along a lane until they find an enemy unit. When they find an enemy unit, they attack it. When they find several enemy units they choose their target using a priority system that follows this order:

Enemy champions attacking an allied champion. Enemy minions attacking an allied champion. Enemy minions attacking an allied minion. Enemy turrets attacking an allied minion. Enemy champions attacking an allied minion. The closest enemy minion. The closest enemy champion.

Sometimes, minions will change targets and hit another minion. Why?

Once a minion has chosen a target, it only switches to a new target if the new target has higher priority. If they see a new target with the same priority as their current target, they keep attacking their current target.

You can hard CC them to instantly reset aggro or walk away since they're constantly checking for who to hit. I'd imagine (and it seems like) they have a range, so once you get out of that range, they'll find the other minions to fight.
