Ok so, listen; I see a lot of new players complaining about it, so I'll tell you how you can have a better experience.

  1. Lvl your account to 30 by playing mostly vs bots.
  2. Only play Solo Q after.

That's it, trust me. You don't really care how good or bad you are at the game, you don't care about the fkin lp and the ranked system, you only care about learning the game while playing at a similar skill level. Blinds and Normal draft will match you randomly with any ranked players from Iron/Unranked to Challenger. Flex ranked games are basically Normal draft 2.0 where everyone's Solo Q rank is usually way higher so it's same shiz, you get a franken-mix of skill levels and it's just a fiesta all day every day. You'll still come across smurfs and whatnot but this way it'll be the exception rather then the norm and if you drop below a certain threshold in elo you'll almost never see them as they're usually way higher or simply breeze through said elo in like 7 games max then they're gone never to be seen again.

I don't think that you can run across players past a certain mmr point difference in draft

blind maybe, but as far as I knew draft had the same rough regulations that ranked did...just a tad toned down

the only way ur running across someone with a stupidly higher mmr is if they are on a smurf account

I could be wrong about that and someone from riot is more than welcome to correct me

Disagree. I would say play bots for a few games to get used to playing the game but once you get that down you can switch over to normals(when i first started that was around 8-10). Throw on that mute allies and do not turn on all chat.

Keep your champion pool very very small as well(i had 1 champion per lane when i started).

Bots help you get your controls down but you shouldn't be spending an extended period of time on them you wont improve.
