I'm only asking this because in one of my games recently I decided to pick Teemo as a top laner and my opponent chose Shaco. Needless to say, he didn't have a fun time and died many times to a full AP Teemo. I'm wondering who is an effective counter to this little rat, not only because I'm looking to expand my top lane pool of champions but because I'm not entirely sure who I should try to ban if I want to play Teemo in top lane.
Despite what some people say, its a skill matchup.
Usually any champion in league of legends can deal with teemo once they get magic resist items, but to snowball off him and trade with him it takes a little skill.
As far as statisical winrate champions, pantheon completely bodies teemo and his grandmother.
I think the biggest problem is people get so tilted when they have a teemo against them especially when they lane against one...it isn't necessarily a matter of a champion "counter" but just knowing how to play against one.
You had a Shaco who did not get a Sweeping Lense. That's the first item I'd get against a Teemo to make sure to clear the shrooms. And if he was as behind in lane as you said, he probably should have gone some MR despite being Shaco.
In terms of who to ban against a Teemo, I feel like Pantheon, Irelia, Wukong, or anyone that can gap close and jump on him would give Teemo a hard time but at the same time, I don't fully believe in counters for champions. Anyone that has good knowledge of their champion, the matchup, and of the gameplay should be able to lane fine against a Teemo and not lose lane
(though on a side note....Shaco ended the game with a total of 6,666 gold income.......)
Sweeping lens and merc treads.
Riven, Kennen, Jayce, Pantheon, Vlad, Rumble, Wukong, Yorick.... Essentially anyone who doesn't rely in a lot of auto attacks as their primary damage source for obvious reasons.
