When to Pick 'Wits end' and/or Ohmwrecker

My thoughts? Never. So lets talk about it, hopefully someone can enlighten me.

Ohmwrecker :: Activation is a pretty cool effect, but it's generally limited to its target audience. First, in my mind this would be an amazing items for particular supports, especially if you felt you had the advantage in lane; thus it would allow you to snowball further. The problem with this is the generall cost of the items effect when competing with also finishing your actual support item. So yea, great item over-all, but when you consider that it'll be the 3rd or 4th item you'll be building (after you main supp item, boots, sightstone, etc) it wont see a LOT of use. Reason being is that either 1)You're winning and already have quite a few towers down, or 2)You're losing and don't have the opportunity to attack towers anyhow.

Top laners. You only want this item if you're building tanky and need some CDR. More than likely you wont be doing damage, because you have THIS item instead of something more helpful to your farming capabilities. When you do get this item you're essentially placing all your eggs on your junglers ability to make the most of it; often time a poor choice in solo ques. The activation is nice, but again, you're spending a LOT to obtain it. By the time you have acquired it, to much else is happening in the game to make it really worth (refer back to 1) and 2) )

My idea to fix this is creating a sub-item to this which contains the active effect. "Now, I aint no balancer wiz-kid"... so I don't know how best to accomplish that, but more quickly rewarding the person building the item would seem to make it a MUCH more wanted item.

Wits End :: I honestly have to little a clue on when you would consider picking this item. The only people I understand it working well with is those that are tanky enough to build its MR stacks quick enough without being shredded by the AP carry._ Most fights top lane that have you going against a tanky-AP user are to 'skirmishy' to effectively keep the stacks active_. What I mean is that you generally poke at each other... its never a brawl in those match ups. So, other than that I -really- don't understand this item nearly enough to form a solid opinion. Would greatly appreciate feedback on this. Only people I see using it occasionally are Shen and Warwick.

I think it would be neat if ohmwrecker was given a "promote" summoner spell effect when used on ally turrets. I think that would be really strong, but not too much so. The reason the old promote was too strong was that it affected all turrets around the map globally.

Additionally, making Ohmwrecker into an alternative support item would be an equal solution. Pick traditional support items for utility/Carry protection. Pick sightstone support item for better map awareness. Pick Ohmwrecker support item if you're feeling snowbally.

I've never seen people build Ohmwrecker nor have I built it myself so I'll skip that part. As for Wit's End, it can be a decent item in certain situations. Shen's most damage comes from autos so having the attack speed and on-hit comboed with his own attack speed and on-hit works well, plus the tank is a nice bonus since you can stack it. Udyr can use it for the same reason and if he goes devourer it works out even better. When devourer was a two hit proc on ranged I built full on-hit attack speed lulu. Devourer and bork slaughtered anyone unfortunate enough to be near me but hurricane, frozen mallet, nashors tooth and wits end made it to the point that I could 1v5 and win if I got the surprise attack. It's a nice hybrid between tank and damage and although not always the best choice, it does have some uses.
