Playing Nasus taught me how to properly play safe, farm from behind, and surprise people with powerspikes.

I coach league of legends for my local high school, for beginners I usually have them play (from easiest to hardest)

Top- garen, malphite, and pantheon Jungle- warwick, xin Zhao, amumu Mid- Annie, lux, veigar Bot- ashe, miss fortune, caitlyn Support- Janna, taric, leona

These 15 champions give you the foundations of league of legends andx teach you a lot of skills that can be applied to all the other champions in league, also theyre base effectiveness is really high so you don't need to be the best at CS or kill your lane opponent a bunch to do work

From that point on you can play whatever you want but champions who can do a lot or have high mastery curves (gangplank, Elise, riven) will teach you the most if you put tghe time into them

Adc. Jhin skill shots and ability managements, his passive requires you to play around the reload. Ezreal Varus using abilitys for damage, Ashe Kalista how to kite fights.

I've tried to main a couple champions (7 lvl 7, 21 lvl 5+). And the one that made me learn the most is Kha'Zix (pre rework). Your early game is rather weak ; you HAVE to snowball if you don't wanna be a dead weight for your team. Waiting for the right time to jump in front of 5 people in a tf. Waiting a minute to kill their adc at their red. Using really weird paths to surprise people in an unwarded brush (the closest to their base for example). This point sort of repeats the last one, but playing around wards/no vision.

You also had to be really quick with abilities and mouse to offer as little counterplay as possible. Failing to W before jump could get you killed because you gave them an extra .1 second to play with (same goes for AA Q or W Q). Failing your double jump (not max range) could get you killed because you were out of position.

If you want to learn the big picture then pick up Singed. You need to constantly pay attention to teleport cooldowns, missing enemies, recalls, and objectives to do well with him.
