Morgana is a tank support

Her gameplay is more similar to thresh than any mage,her base stats(as in hp,armor,ms) are high,she doesn't stay in the backlines looking to deal damage,she stays in the frontline and looks for picks(just like a tank support) and when a fight starts she runs into the enemy team to cc them,whereas in lane she doesn't stay back out of fear of focus but instead tries to shotgun you with her q.

Yes there are a decent amount of differences,but she's definitely more of a tank support than a mage/utility support,even if she doesn't build face of the mountain.

There's not too much of a point to this,I just felt like this was worth mentioning.
