I cannot climb. Advice and tips would be appreciated.

I cannot climb out of Bronze 4. I know to all of the high Elo players in this game this is gonna be a typical bronze thing to say because we are bad at the game. But I literally cannot climb out. I do not flame, I focus objectives and try to make the smart choices, and I cs somewhat well, and I buy wards and when I mess up in a game I realize that in some way it is my fault and I always try my best to build properly and use proper masteries. I look at probuilds for the basic build and then adapt the build for the in-game circumstances. And yet still I end up in b5 every couple weeks. I randomly just tilt off of my main champ at the time and then can no longer play them or I tilt and go on massive losing streaks. I don't know how to break these streaks and it ultimately just ends up with me back in b5. I try to keep an open mind and I watch videos on how to get better and make sure to look at tier lists and all that and still, I cannot climb. I watch videos too (Redmercy and Phylol) If anyone could look at my op.gg or any of those sites and tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be very happy.

First off take a break when you go back to back losses, I usually stop after 4. I will take a look and get back to you with tailored advice later bud. Getting Tilted ends badly pretty much all of the time.

Edit, Done with dinner lets take a look.

  1. No Xin Unless ya invest lots and lots of time into normal until your hitting a really strong KDA and make a visible and positive impact in majority of your games, You played him this and last season, currently your 50% wins but last season you had 75% losses. Nothing here implies your gonna climb playing him.

  2. Mid lane, From the games I looked at your having difficulty's in mid. Some of them may be support matches (at least 2 of them are with morg but you won them so gj) but looking over your common mid champs your record is 24 wins (not counting the 2 morg support games I saw or it would be 26) 46 losses. Your damage is frequently lower then your opponents. I don't know if your missing skill shots, playing to aggressive and over extending but you have room for growth in your mid game. (this is not a bad thing, once you figure out what's the problem and improve it your gonna do better.)

  3. adcs, Jhin and Twich. you win more then you lose as them. I'm a bit surprised your not playing them more. Your Cs per min on them is higher then most the other I have seen you play. ADC is a hard role to carry outta bronze in but not impossible.

  4. Positioning, Just looking at damage done and taken I think you may benefit from putting effort into positioning yourself in fights better. Again hard to say for shure as I'm just going over static numbers but its a trend I have seen in my friends. Bad positioning lowers damage dealt for every time they hang to far back and get to a fight late, then lower damage further and increases damage taken when they move in to close or wander into danger zones. So my rule of thumb is if you see a damage oriented role like mid or adc who rely on positioning in fights with lower damage then expected and high damage taken its a good idea to take time to look at if your putting your champ where they need to be.

  5. Runes, Well riots removing them so...keep that in mind. You still might want to invest the IP into a 3rd page, just to have something handy for auto fill matches, something for front line bruisers, tanks, or a dedicated support page.

A bit more generalized advice next

  1. ** pro play **is not bad but the way the game flows is very different in lower elo. I would look more to what their spell combos are and the situation they use them in, Games will be a lot more snowball when the skill discrepancy is high between the two teams.

  2. Find what works for you, Keep an eye on win rate, win rate is what will bring you up. Do a 20 game dedicated run with a champion you feel your good at. look at the win rate when your done. Rotating thru champions is fine, as long as your good with said champions. If your Mains don't win games time for new mains. Unless you really enjoy them, then play away you should be having fun in lol first and foremost after all. Just know that not every fun champ is gonna be your ticket to climb up the ladder, even if your good at them and your metrics are on point.... if your win rates not positive your not climbing.

  3. Keep the positive attitudeSo many folks are so salty over WON LANE TEAM BAD GGGGGGGGG ELO HEEELLL. Wining lane but not working with folks, or being unable to adjusts your play to work around folks.. well who cares that you beat the lane phase then? If you cant get a victory screen then its meaningless to win lane. Work as a team even if they are bad and your gonna see more impact then trying to hero mode.

  4. Play from Behind When some one has a fat lead, know how to and when to stall for time as you cs as effectively as possible, your gonna want to communicate with team and do your best to stop gold from bleeding outta ya and cash out on as many juicy minions as you can until your able to close the gap, or hit the next item that provides your champ a spike in power.

  5. Know your enemy Turns out folks will have a unclear grasp of roles or champions. Looking up and memorizing Lolwiki is one way, reading a guide written by a pro for everybody is also an option. Personally not my style, I got better when I decided to play every champ and work on my worst roles. AI vs Bots + weekly free champions is a good spot. I can read "shoots ability X units" but playing them a few times and getting a feel for it how I personally learn champs and their threats. Should have at the least a rough understanding of the majority of champs and if there's some who your not remembering then use the load time and lobby time (after making shure SS, mastery's, runes are set properly) to refresh yourself. 5b. Pay attention to meta shifts, Keep an eye on the patchs, New champs, people figuring out better builds, buffs nerfs etc will impact ya. Sometimes positive other not. Its its killing your ability to win its time to adapt and change what your doing.

  6. Don't get upset over a loss Its gonna happen. Even faker has losses. Look to improve, check you post game screen for numbers and look over what went down. Find trends in your play, if they are negative trends, then remove them from how you play. Self improvements the way to go.

Feel free to hit me up if somethings unclear. I can also try to make some time to spectate a few games to look at the actual mechanics you might wanna work on.

It's late so I can't type out too much, but off the top of my head play more of your Twitch and shoot for 100 cs by 12 mins (practice in a bot game).

I'm just gold V but I did make that climb when I started playing too so here is what I think

  1. Stick to 2 or 3 champs. You are playing like 8 different champions in your last 12 ranked games. You play ranked games on champions with < lv5 mastery. Choose 2 or 3 champions, have a support autofill pick in mind, and focus. Do not play something in ranked with less than lv5 mastery.

  2. Stop playing when you're mad. This is hard to do since you will just want that win so badly and tilt further and further. Just make a rule, you're mad or in a bad mood, you play a game or 2 vs bots. Or stop for the day.

  3. Play to get more gold than your opponent. This sounds retard obvious BUT i noticed in my own play if my goal was to poke / harass / solo kill my enemy laner I really often had terrible cs. Since I'm not good enough to do both at the same time as well as I can do them alone. My games where I outfarmed my opponent and was just 0/0/0 until the right opportunity to fight went much better than my try to be aggro games. Except with Talon. I kill them at lv2 with talon

Alright excuse me while I be critical:

I know to all of the high Elo players in this game this is gonna be a typical bronze thing to say because we are bad at the game. But I literally cannot climb out.

Start off by getting out of this mentality. You are not climbing out of a sinkhole, your job right now is to make yourself a better player. Your goal today should be to do better than you did yesterday. Ignore the climb, you can do this mentally by ignoring it or literally by just playing normals or using the practice tool a lot. Your focus is you. Only you, and how you're going to be a good player.

I do not flame

Is your all chat on? If so, turn it off. Maybe you're not flaming but the enemy team may something off that tilts you ever so slightly, and it will be all downhill from there. Besides that, there is literally no purpose in all chat that doesn't sound incredibly silly in the context of improving yourself as a player.

From there, make sure that anything you say to your teammates is constructive and inclusive. Some people don't consider it flaming but there is no point in saying something silly like "don't die". Tell them HOW not to die, or ask if they need help. Furthermore, never single somebody out. Every time you say something to anybody in particular, you should never be talking to them in particular if it has even a chance of getting misinterpreted. "You should build armor" after somebody died to a Talon carries a much different message than "We should build armor". Don't forget to ping your teammates always. Especially in low intensity lanes, you can watch the entire map and focus on more than just mias in your own lane.

Finally, do not be afraid to use the mute button. Don't just mute somebody at the first bad thing they say (or do, just be careful of unnecessary communication errors), but if somebody clearly is not going to be saying anything useful to you, don't let them. There is no point in communicating with players that will only bring you down.

I focus objectives and try to make the smart choices

How.

Do you know how to snowball and turn one kill or objective into many kills or objectives? Are you good at watching enemy movement through the Jungle and predicting where they'll be so you can ambush or countergank them? Does your build reflect the job you provide for clearing objectives? Can you immediately spot which champions on your team are good for what job (tower damage, dragon damage, ganking, zoning, waveclear)? Can you immediately tell which teammates are actually going to work together with the rest of the team?

Another thing I feel like people don't realize when they say "I focus on objectives" is that they start to ignore the enemy team. Yeah, ignore the Singed that's laughing and pulling you away from the nearest tower while the rest of his team is dead. But if you don't know how to kill somebody strategically, you will not be able to:

  • Get free damage on towers
  • Shut down hypercarries and neutralize lane bullies
  • Win lane
  • Force 4v5s
  • Eliminate Smite

And that list just keeps going. I'm not telling you to take every fight you can, but learning how to pick and choose fights and turn them into objectives is the next step after "focus objectives".

I cs somewhat well

But can you cs better?

Do you know how to abuse the trading stance?

Do you use abilities to farm or do you use auto attack to clear minions? Furthermore, if the enemy laner cses with abilities, do you use this as a go signal to start a trade or all in?

and I buy wards

But can you do more?

Do you sweep wards when you can? Do you know where to ward, especially advanced warding for hyper mobile Junglers?

Also tiny tip: Vision is good for defense, vision denial is good for offense. They're not mutually exclusive, but shutting down wards is a fun way to snowball. Furthermore, vision denial works up until you start auto attacking the ward. If you ignore the ward it can't see you, hit it and you reveal the area immediately around you.

I realize that in some way it is my fault and I always try my best to build properly and use proper masteries. I look at probuilds for the basic build and then adapt the build for the in-game circumstances.

Good.

If you're tilting, stop playing.

Just focus on getting better every game. Aim just a little higher than you did before every game.

try splitpushing to death. If you can do it right you can outright force wins easily.

I just want to thank everyone who commented. This has not only lifted my spirits and made me hopeful, but it has also made me realize the things I am not doing. Thank you so much everyone. Good luck in the fields of justice :)
