Match making???

Hey, don't mean to sound like the noob that i am, but is mmr or amount of games not taken into account at all when playing non ranked blind? It has happened like 5 times now, but ill just take my very last game as an example. I have played about 35 games total now, 18 wins in blind. The opposing team had a guy with 1020 wins, one with 493 wins, 420 wins. The most one of my teammates had was 215. I just don't understand how someone with 18 wins is being matched against a guy who has over 1000 wins. Maybe i'm out of place. Just wondering. Thanks for the input
