My Problem with Mage "Supports"

In my opinion a good support pick should be able to do 2 things.

Function with less gold then the rest of the team.
Protect the ADC. Either with peel to get assassins off the ADC such as flay, or heals and shields such as E and R

I personally like because she has access to two forms of peel + a shield and a heal. I use to enjoy support but since the E CD nerf his main tool for peeling is not as consistent and he can't heal and shield his carry in anyway besides , so I just go with because i don't want to burden my carry with a pick.

FYI I am not a ADC main. I play all roles decently but i excel at Jungle and Top so it might just be me but when i adc i find it really nice to have a Braum/Lulu Ult on the ready for when the rengar jumps on me.

Your one of those that assumes all support are the same and you would've lived if I was so and so .

But mage supports generally have a lot of cc, they just have higher item costs, but if you can snowball the lane then the higher item costs won't matter as much and by end game you can be as powerful as the mid laners, you're just an item behind them with sightstone,so they can be just as effective when played correctly

People think mages are supports because they have a stun or slow, guess that makes Ashe , a support for her stun and slow, don't forget Jax and Udyr though, they have stuns too! Gnar 's got a knock back AND a slow! Can supports get ANY better?

Illaoi has harass AND a huge slow, just like who's such a great support, Darius has a pull too, SUPPORT! Gangplank is slows for days with his ultimate! supports! supports! supports! Garen has a silence! support! Shaco has a fear, support! RekSai has a knock up AND a slow, supports for days!!!

what can we learn?

CC DOES NOT MEAN SUPPORT
