Poacher's Knife

So I have an idea about how Riot could change poacher's knife to make it more viable or at least more exciting than a movespeed boost and 20 gold. What if for instance, the smite interacted with whatever upgrade you got for it, such as giving an extra stack on devourer, or making runeglave do a small amount of bonus damage. Or another idea could be that it gives smite a second active after use. The second activation of your smite charge could be a short range (smaller than flash) blink for use of escaping or chasing in the enemy jungle. Just an idea that occurred to me after riot mentioned that Kindred's leap made counter jungling safer.

imo Poacher is/was outclassed by other upgrades because the other upgrades had combat capabilities. Even the heal on Trailblazer could help turn a fight. For poacher's, you only got a ms boost and you had to be fighting near an enemy jungle camp to use it

Check the Red Tracker for a thread called "Poacher's Knife has been meaningless all season" or something like that. Was about three weeks ago.

If any changes to counter jungling come they will come during the preseason, but Riot has already said they won't be messing with the jungle too much this preseason, focusing instead on more juggernauts, marksmen and supports.

If Riot does remove Poacher's from the game entirely it will make counter jungling significantly more difficult and a lot riskier. The smite cd reduction was necessary to clear the entire blue or red side jungle before you got caught and the bonus gold kept you ahead if you were consistently clearing camps and your opponent was ganking.

Remove these bonuses and counter jungling just won't have enough reward to compensate the risk.
