New patch update = more ping

So, ever since the last couple patch updates starting the end of last year, it has made it damn near impossible to play. I have gotten up to about 2,300 ping in just a custom game. And every few seconds I get lagged out with the ping going up to 1k. And before any of you say anything it has nothing to do with my internet or computer. They're both fine. Before the last couple patches I was able to play League with no problems or at the least very little. But what is perplexing is that I spoke with a Rioter through their new customer support chat system and gave them some info about my ping through their hextech tool and they said that they did see an increase in ping time. But that still doesn't make sense why it would be my internet. But the whole point of this is that I'm getting way more lag than before before the last couple patches. If anyone else is having the same problem I am than just add your comment below.
