Not a fan of Aery?

Am I the only one? He feels clunky to use, especially on Champions like Sona and Soraka. If you go in to poke it goes on a weird cd/travel time before you get Aery back to use defensively. Not to mention some people who aren't even supports are picking him up for more reliable damage since arcane comet can miss. I understand he's versatile, but at the same times sometimes I accidentally use him when I'd rather save him for defensive reasons.
