Why is Ekko eligible for an assasin update?

So, all of you have read the assasins pre-season update, if you haven't read it somehow, go back and read then come back to the thread. But anyways, what is my point here? Well, nowdays Ekko's more about being an annoying AF AD/AP brusier, so why is he even included in the reworks? Even if it is just a small rework, he's still included in the group. If he got an adjustment and went back to his role of actually being an AP assasin, then it would be acceptable. You might by saying: "Oh but people sitll play him as an AP assasin, plus look at the LCS!" Well, first off, let me get this out of the way, the LCS isn't the same as casual league of legends, just look at all the sheep picking MF support without knowing how she works (seriously, just stop), and secondly, when was the last time you saw an AP ekko assasin in the mid lane? Exactly. But anyways, maybe I am wrong, maybe people do actually still play him AP mid assasin often, but from my experince and what I've seen, he's played more as an AP/AD brusier in the top lane more then he is in his actual role.

Because he is meant to be an assassin, and Riot is using the update as an opportunity to try to fulfill that.

Riot wants ekko to be an assassin. They specifically want him to be an assassin who engages, disengages, and RE-engages. To do that they gave him a lot of unconditional mobility, psuedo tank, and stick.
