I'm investing my time and effort into playing ranked games and it's fun. Don't get me wrong. I'm not here to complain about League of Legends game right now, I want to talk about the matchmaking system.. and no not a rant. I want answers.. It's been my second promos game lost to silver 3 and every. EVERY. Batch of teammates I get has some sort of problem that causes a loss. As if riot hand picks players that'll really tick me off and do different things to effect me mentally and challenge me. Even before the game starts. I get rude toxic players that act up in game. Name call me etc I'm like cool. Whatever. But you see this builds up dealing with all the toxic behavior one player deals with. I'm not here to say league is supposed to be cautious about ones mental health. It's not in their place rightfully as a company. There's a summoner code everyone signs.

(1) To get to the point I want to know why am I getting poor players in promos when I'm investing my time and effort into 20-40 min games? I've worked not to be disrespected by the matchmaking system by being provided with "Bot-like teammates". (I didn't type that out of anger I typed that truthfully in how I feel my teammates act in-game not personality .)

(2) Back to talking about bots I'm not here to start any drama, but I feel as if I'm supposed to be a robot playing this game. To hold my emotions against the community sometimes, to bottle up my anger not to people. To the framework of the whole game. You see this game is like a hard drug. It's awfully addicting. But to say take a break for a while or mute players is something else. Why can't the community as a whole help you riot to fix the system and maybe over at HQ you tweak things here and there. Instead of going through excess patches and bugs. There really isn't much impact in community engage at all in this topic.

May or may not be wrong on points made it's ignorant for me to claim a lot of things here._** So know** _ I'm not here writing all factual information. Just understand I want to find purpose in ranked. Bottom line is I love League of Legends. Mostly cause of queuing with friends and having fun, innocent times. Although it's that the more I got to know about it as I aged in four years was what woke me up and started pissing me off. I miss season four queuing up on the old League client good times. If you've read through the whole thing or even took the time skipping through reading this your a legenditem 2004 (pardon for the format it's rushed)

The title was not even needed. The feeling about ranked is mutual across all elo's, and I dont think i've seen this shit even when ranked was at its "worst". Positional matchmaking was called out for its potential abuses, and Riot simply just let it happen. Thats why theres more and more poor players in matches that they shouldn't be in. Last year it felt like hell being in D5. It feels like im in a hell inside a hell this year in d4, a division that is literally one division away from being with the cool kids. Its mindboggling. LS has said it, and I cant agree enough about it: Reset.The.Ladder.

i'm getting griefed for roughly 3~ weeks straight in 80% if my games so idk season 9 gave me the worst league experiences i've ever had normals/rankeds/aram doesnt matter what i play i get trolled/inted/held hostage etc etc its disgusting and i never wanted to quit so bad tbh

DUDE, I just wanted to play ranked after 5 days, i get in ranked, win one and the game wasn't a roflstomp by any of the two teams, ok nothing bad at all, but then i lose two in a row and i lost all motivation just because two of those games were completely uncarriable by me just by having top and mid losing their matchups and having an afk... and it gets worst on promos

Why do i keep playing this game if im forced to DUOQ to try to avoid the RNGesus of ranked? LMAO Completely discouraging for real SoloQ players not playing jungle...

yeah, that happens. makes playing Rank not worth it. Makes playing this entire game not worth it since this happens in all the game modes

The weird thing is... Now in S9 I get most of my game invites between 0 and 30 seconds (Plat1/Jungle/EUW) and the matchmaking is WAY more unbalanced and worse than S8 and Pre-Season, where my game invites were ALWAYS around 1:30-1:40 in the same Elo. I mean, if you shorten the queue by 80% it's no wonder that you have to pay for it with something else. In this case the quality of balanced games. It's totally obvious that you can't have both: short queue and good balance. I don't understand why they did it. I was totally fine with 1:30. Hell I would even be fine with 3 minutes if I have teammates on my Skill-Level then. Now it's just coinflipping (at least if you play a champ who can't carry 1vs9) if you have the Smurf, autofill, troll or unranked with 5 games in your team.

I check op.gg. before every game and I can say the outcome 8 out of 10 games. When I see 3 Plat1, 2 Dia4 all with 55%+ winrate and one with 71% winrate (Smurf) in enemy team (3 of them Dia in S8) and MY team is 2 Plat1, 2 Plat 2 and 1 Plat 3 all except me with negative winrate, 2 of them gold last season no one Dia last season.... well THEN I know who will win THAT game...

Did anyone else have shorter queue time now?

The only thing we can do, is encourage and promote A PROPER USE of the report function

It is easy to spot when someone is bad/had a bad game, but tried to play positively and improve their mistakes in the game but failed, thus deserving no blame, from when people regardless of being actually decent skilled players lose you games because they act like d*cks but do not get reported and even actually report you/get you reported because they are sensitive babies that can't face the reality of the situation

A ton of people will just not spend 1 minute in the post-game screen to report, and that just infuriates me... as well as the people that are just blindly focus on K/D (often ignoring even assists) which many times says absolutely nothign about what decisions actually lost the game, and if a guy with a worse score than another was acctualy making the right calls but got completely ignored by some entitled a**hole leading to a bad fight and surefire loss when the game could still be won

Last season I Did Promos to Gold 18-20 times and EVERY time Riot would give me AFKers or a flat out Inter or the enemy has a Diamond+ Smurf that would STOMP their laner (talking 10+/0 by 15m

Their was ZERO ways I could win any of the games because of the teams Riot put together. It was 100% picked who would win BEFORE champ select.

I report people who troll, afk, or are toxic. I haven't seen one catch a punishment in a really long time. I follow their game history and they just continue to play and troll. I watched a guy troll 25 games and he never got banned. The report system doesnt do anything. But then I got trolled 1 time and yelled at them in chat and I got a restriction the first time. The trolls for some reason take a bizarre pleasure in skirting the ban bot. The ban bot mostly reads the chat logs. So if they troll and stay under a certain number of deaths and dont type anything they wont get banned. Riot has no interest in fixing this. And since the game is free, you have a lot of kiddos who get a kick out of ruining games.

The thing I dont understand is why there are unranked players in 100% of my games? Sometimes they are obvious smurfs and sometimes they are on their way to iron4. It makes the game kind of a crap shoot.

matchmaking is garbage which led me to being toxic which let me to getting banned. ive lost thousands due to getting banned. I wont buy anymore skins and i am not playing 1/10th as much as I used to. Im not toxic anymore so I guess that worked on Riots behalf but ya...

I have been saying the same thing. I get into a team and they are all lower ranks than me. It is so irritating to work so hard and have someone who doesn't even care lose your entire game. One game my jng and I were on a roll and helping all lanes and getting objectives and kills. Then my bot lane throws the entire game. Why work so hard for people who dont care. Its like I understand its a team game, but seriously you lose so much more lp just for trying to win and they lose it for you. They dont care if they win or lose. It sucks. This is the culture of League of legends now. lol. When i started people were mean, yeah, but now they are outright toxic and disgusting. How can you fucking climb when all you get are shitty teams.

This is an unpopular opinion, because people really enjoy blaming their teammates, but I think in promos it puts you (and the rest of your team as a consequence) against higher MMR players. This means your teammates in promos are usually outmatched, even if it's just slightly, and they perform much worse than they normally would because of it.

tl:dr; your teammates aren't worse than normal in promos, your opponents are just better than normal.
