Reached Level 30, and suddenly I'm worse than everyone else

So, as the title refers to, I just hit level 30 recently. The journey to level 30, I would say, was pretty good, and I would have positive winning streaks. But, in the levels just before I hit 30, I'm suddenly being stumped by ranked players and people who are overall still better than me. I only started playing League of Legends back in March, and the road from there was kind of smooth. I found many players who I could best easily. But, now it's far more challenging. I don't wanna blame the matches I get but I'm also noticing that I'm being paired with and against high bronze/low silver players all the time.

I used to go on a winning/losing streak of 5/7 games. Now, it's more like 1/7. I'm not playing ranked yet, but I know as soon as I do, I'll be drafted straight to Bronze 5, which I don't want. I'm a tank/mage support main, and in recent plays, I haven't been able to land good assists for my ad carries. Pre-30, I was able to land 5/11/27 KDA most of my games. Now, it's become 0/17/8. Instead, I've been making all sorts of mistakes, such as: going in at the wrong time, hooking with Leona and dying along with my ad carry. It also seems that no matter what support I try (I main Blitzcrank, Lux, Morgana, Soraka, and Leona), the other team support and ad carry is somehow getting the best of us. This, in turn, causes us to lose the game, cause I wasn't contributing positively enough into our game play. As of right now, I can safely say that the Laning Phase of the game is where I know I struggle the most. But, when it comes to team fights, that's when I can really get my support into the game. But, so far, I haven't been able to get my teammates into the same situation. They'll instead be all like "oh, our support fed too much. gg". And, I'll be like "Why is it that you all fed your opposite laners too? If I suck so much, why did Aatrox lose to Riven, hmm?" In times like these, I really do have to rely on my other teammates to help carry me. I know some people say that supports are responsible for carrying the carries to victory and as a default, my mechanics and positioning have to be really good, but in all honesty, it's not up there yet like so many others. So, what can I do to improve my support play?

So your problem is easily solved. YOU HAVE NO RUNES, You start being able to buy t3 runes at level 20. You can not hope to win at level 30 without them. the base stats just are not enough at this point. The reason you noticed the game getting hard after 20 is the same reason. At level 20 you have 2/3 of a rune book unlocked and you can start putting in the t3 runes. This is a huge power spike.

Would you mind adding me? TheMormonator. I'm a support main as well and your problem kind of intrigues me.

If you lack the tier 3 runes, you're not going to be able to trade in lane, jungling is riskier, supporting is rough, it's harder to lasthit... Overall lacking runes is not good.

As a list of must have runes: Marks- Armor penetration, Magic penetration, Flat AP, Flat AD, Flat Attack speed Seals- Flat Armor, Flat MP5, scaling MP5 Glyphs- Flat AP, AP per level, Magic resist per level, flat magic resist, Flat/Scaling Cooldown reduction (arguable) Quints- Flat AP, Flat AD, Movespeed, Flat health,

These will give you the works for a solid generic page for almost any champion. Other runes can be useful on specific champions, these are just the runes you can guarantee to see yourself using at some point. Of course, prioritize for the champions you play the most, no reason to rush into AD quints if you love playing mages and supports.

In addition, looking at your masteries, there are some issues. Looking at your active page (Jinx) Double edged sword in particular is a trap mastery, it looks good, but on paper you're doing 1.5% more damage, hitting maybe 1-2 enemies at once if you're using her rockets, for a total of 3% more damage. AD carries tend to find themselves targets, that's generally 4-5 people on the enemy who want your head on a plate, so you're taking 6% extra damage. Doesn't work out very well. You already have enough damage, you need to survive.

A healthier mastery setup for a Jinx would look something like this. http://tinyurl.com/kj4lack Now, the mana regen and movespeed masteries can be very good for Jinx, if you feel you need them, take them, but in general the extra little bit in the defense tree is a lot better for ADCs in the early game. Mana management is very important to learn even with runes and masteries to help.

Your build order is also questionable. Statikk shiv->Phantom dancer offers very little damage. Yes, you're attacking fast, and have decent crit, but you have no damage to back up the crit, especially without runes to provide anything. Infinity Edge or Blade of the Ruined king are the items to rush for right now, and arguably Bloodthirster. Shiv rush can work if you're able to get in that proc on the enemy laners frequently, but you need an IE or bloodthirster after it to keep your damage competitive. Pure attack speed doesn't work (unless your name is vayne)

I would recommend going for IE immediately, followed by shiv or phantom dancer. Grabbing a vamp scepter or a second doran's blade helps to stay in lane. If they're really bulky, Blade of the ruined king and last whisper help tremendously. If you're getting nuked from orbit, banshee's veil and/or guardian angel are fantastic.

I love the post.

bottom line. if yount play every role, and have runes/masteries set up for them. it isnt time for ranked. although you would not be alone.. 90% of ranked players in bronze/silver and even gold have very little concept of how to advance. making it a quagmire
