I played top, as autofill. and I fucking hated it. I just got countered by some fucking asshole that picked a ranged champion, ADC at that.
they can safely stand behind their creep wave while just harassing you and taking no damage. I risk liosing 30% health by getting 1 cs.
how do you play against them if you picked a melee champ?????
You give up on trying to make plays in lane, and focus on the mid-late game. Do what you can to get as much value out of your lane as possible without giving them unnecessary advantages like dying for free.
Once teamfights start happening, your team will have a massive advantage because ADCs are inherently garbage at teamfights, having little to no utility and being easily killed. Top lane usually has someone who is at least somewhat beefy for frontline and at least a small bit of utility, and ADCs dont bring either (and the ones that do dont function top lane), so the enemy team is already down a front line member and has another person they need to divert their utility onto to protect.
The ADC top counterpick to you is basically trying to make you more useless than they are going to become. If you just survive early, youre golden.

Take ghost over Tp if you really need to, on champions like Darius or Nasus who can have trouble catch up to some enemies.
As soon as you get close to them, you win. Try to cheese them level 1 and chunk out half their health sitting in a bush waiting for them to run into you, this instantly makes lane alot easier.

last night i played maokai and got "countered" picked by vayne top.
she kept shoving the wave into to me, she did kill me in lane but as soon as my jungler realized it was free kills with my cc it was done. i went 2-2-15 she ended up 6/7/3
she had 75 more cs then i did and doubled my damaged. but she couldnt do anything due to my cc with a gank.
you cant always win the match up but you can win the game. the key is trying not to feed or let them get to far ahead

K so I looked at match history OP and I can't find the game. Was It played on a different account?
Depends on champ, you freeze lane at your side of the lane, yea you'll miss a bit of CS, but you farm with abilities/quick AA and back off.
Take doran shield + second wind, refillable if you can, wait for them to overextend and that's an easy gank, deny them kill gold, and you will 99% of the time offer your team more utility later on in mid-late game over a 2nd squishy marksmen.
Will it be fun? no, you'll need to restrein yourself from trying to go all unless the enemy champ oversteps or get out of postion, will it help your team later? yea.
